When I smell Vetiver, I feel…..truly Javanese 😘

To me, Vetiver is smell kind of Old Batik…yes, you hear it right. Batik is traditional Javanese heritage cloth. My late grandmother used to washed her batiks with and keep in cupboard with

Lerak is soapnut, a fruit that produces soapy foam for washing, coz it’s neutral pH so won’t ruin natural colour of good batik
Akar wangi is dried roots of vetiver, smell so woodsy-earthy, bugs hate it. Minyak akar wangi used to apply on woody furnitures in olden-days to preserve it from nasty-termites

Now therapeutic Vetiver oil is commonly use for calming those anxious, promote restful sleep. As it’s high in Sesquiterpenes, vetiver also good for brain health.
