Dr Huang Xinyong is the first Singapore Surgeon to use the PTeye™ Parathyroid Detection System (developed by Medtronic).

During thyroid and parathyroid surgeries, it is important for the surgeon to accurately locate the parathyroid glands.

To assist surgeons, the PTeye™ parathyroid detection system, a probe-based technology, helps to identify parathyroid tissue suspected during surgery.

The PTeye™ System uses a probe that emits light at wavelengths suitable for stimulating native fluorescence in biological tissues. This aids the surgeon in differentiating between parathyroid glands and other tissues, thereby reducing surgical errors by helping to confirm the tissues targeted for removal.
