[What is a facelift?] A facelift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that repositions the sagging soft tissue of the face and neck back to its position in youth. As we age, our skin begins to lose elasticity and our facial tissue loses volume. This creates βloose skinβ and wrinkles.
[Is there a best age for a facelift?] In general, most people start thinking about getting a facelift in Singapore after 40. While there is no ideal age for a facelift, Asians typically show the signs of aging later than Caucasians.
[Does smoking affect my face?] It is said that smoking makes one look older. Although that is debatable, one thing is for sure β smokers are at greater risk when having a facelift. The blood supply to the skin is poorer and when the surgery is too extensive, the skin that has been pulled may not heal properly after surgery.
[How long does a facelift last?] Well, the procedure restores your face back to a younger age BUT you start aging from there. This means that whatever makes you look old will shorten the longevity of the result (poor health, weight loss, etc.)
