Pushing through one more heavy set? 💪

Core exercises are important for strengthening the abdominal muscles and can actually help reduce the risk of hernias when performed correctly. However, improper technique or excessive strain from high-intensity workouts can place excessive pressure on the abdominal wall.

Too often, this results in muscle damage and abdominal contents being pushed through weakened muscles, resulting in a hernia! 😰

If you notice pain, pressure, or a bulge in your groin or belly, which becomes more obvious when standing, coughing or during exercise, it is important to have it medically assessed. Don’t ignore it!
