When do you speak up?

Asia, as the epicenter of lung cancer, has a higher prevalence of certain genetic mutations. The unfortunate reality is that less than 20% of those impacted are alive after 5 years.

Despite this, new research reveals that up to 61% of patients don't voice their treatment priorities during consultations.

This , we're committed to changing this narrative. That is why we are introducing, the 3rd Opinion, a new term and movement that encourages patients to speak up and actively share their priorities with their doctors during their medical consultations.

As experts Professor Zhu and Mr. Li Bin emphasize in this video, this is important because it ensures doctors understand the patient's perspective and background, allowing them to co-create a treatment plan together.

Ultimately, the goal is to help patients realize what matters most: time for more milestones celebrated and more moments shared with loved ones.

Medical expertise is essential, and so are patient goals. You've listened to the 1st opinion, sought the 2nd—now we empower you to make the 3rd Opinion your own.

“Cancer may be unpredictable, but our financial readiness doesn’t have to be.”

We are glad that this important message made it on air. In a recent Love 97.2 FM interview, Dr Wong Seng Weng, a leading oncologist and DJ Fenying discussed why insurance matters; especially when most lung cancer patients in Singapore are diagnosed late.

Treatments like chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy can be life-extending but may be more costly to treat at later stages.

The takeaway?💡Being financially ready is just as important as being medically prepared.

Looking back on last August's World Lung Cancer Day, we continue to stand with those affected by this leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide. In Singapore, approximately 85% of lung cancer cases are non-small cell lung cancer, a type that benefits from precise, personalized therapies. Early gene testing can play a critical role in guiding treatment and supporting recovery.
