Thank you for visiting our shophouse!

The lovely girls and our seniors spent some intentional time learning from each other, collaborating on illustrated creative expressions based on their lives and deep listening. We were once again reminded of the vibrancy our seniors are capable of through intergenerational interaction – seniors who have been frequently reserved or grumpy came alive!⭐️

Our shophouse was warmth and yet again, felt like more than a space but a vessel for community and connection to blossom. Thank you again SOTA, this collab was so special and such a full circle moment. Absolutely well done girls!🪱🌱

Meet the Social Club🌷🌱🍄🪱
Staff, volunteers, small businesses, collaborators and beyond – they make up the ecosystem of mutual support and care that forms our community and today, we’d love for you to meet them!

We believe the thriving of a diverse community directly impacts the thriving of our seniors. Our Co-Founder, Mariel once likened a healthy community to permaculture: Distinct individuals growing and learning alongside each other, a little chaotic but is what makes a beautiful, healthy, thriving garden.

Meet Theresa our durian-loving, musically talented caregiving staff! She shows care through the sharing of mutual joy and the gifts of her hands (in playing music and gardening!). Our staff are truly the keystone of what we do and Theresa is one of them. Thank you Theresa, for your genuine spirit and all you do!🫶🎸

So excited to be part of SINGAPORAMA by Artist Navin Rawanchaikul, at ’s Padang Atrium⭐️

Last April, Navin visited our space as part of his research to feature JCSC in his large scale artwork: SINGAPORAMA🇸🇬 We had a lovely time sharing and exchanging stories, connecting beyond borders!

This March we finally got to see the work and it was a deeply meaningful moment for our seniors and staff to see themselves represented in such scale!🗺️ Huge thank you to Anissa R for arranging this collaboration, we are so pumped to have our local communities spotlighted💚

📍Today’s JCSC Journey takes us to Studio S.F!
Kevin came by last month to conduct a hand pinching workshop for our seniors and now...they’re finally ready for the kiln. We visited his lovely space nestled in Bedok (east side best side!!) to see our pieces get glazed and bask in the warmth of this creative space😌✨

🎶Turn on sound for the genuine experience – pottery, chats and coffee! It’s exactly how it looks, head down to feel the warmth for yourself.

We’re forever grateful that we get to connect with so many creative collaborators and discover spaces we may not have otherwise💌

Joo Chiat Social Club is looking for fresh faces and vibes for our weekly Social Club Sessions⭐️ 🪏

Social club is a vibrant community space where people can experience meaningful connection and encourages all to embark on new creative pursuits and skills regardless of age! If this sounds like a place you’d like to share your gifts with, we’d love to have you :)

No experience needed, our volunteers have conducted their first workshops with us too and they went splendidly, we are there to guide you!🫶
