is more than happy to provide this weekly nudge until hopefully everyone of us find a regular practice of self care and empathy. Doesn’t have to be Hush+anywhere by Hush TeaBar of course. πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ

This is a public service by Hush TeaBar. Sign up and make this your weekly routine and check in with yourself and others with guidance from our Deaf team. If you can't outside, go inside. ❀

Please share and speed the joy of coming closer even as we stay apart.

Beloved community, how are you doing? We are launching our Zoom Into Hush@Community tomorrow, 9 April, Thursday, 8pm. Registration is open:

https://zoomhush.peatix.com/

It is a safe space for us to meet in silence, self-care, empathy, and inclusion. It is free to join and you may choose to make a donation if you wish, to support our Hush team comprising entirely of Deafies and people living with mental health issues.

Zoom Into Hush@Community will help us process the difficult feelings that we face as we practice physical distancing. It is "physical" rather than "social" distancing because now more than ever, social connection and solidarity become crucial.

Zoom Into Hush@Community is an ongoing offering for the community. Sessions will run weekly from tomorrow. There will be sessions on Resilience, where we will explore how to nurture resilience not as toughness but as tenderness. We will broach questions similar to the ones in this photo: how do we care for ourselves? what small steps can we take to cultivate joy? how are we being supported, and how may we support others?

Please join us and share this widely with your families and friends. Let's show up for ourselves and others. Let's take pause together.

With love and goodwill
Hush Team

3. What expectations of "normal" am I LETTING GO OF today?
4. How am I GETTING OUTSIDE today?
5. How am I MOVING MY BODY today?
6. What BEAUTY am I either creating, cultivating, or inviting in today?

thinks it's absolutely natural to worry where we are but how would mass panic and stocking up help us here, she wonders?

Let's pause for a while and think about this. We hear some rumours, we panic and want to load up on all this food for ourselves. But wouldn't that mean that those who cannot get anything from the supermarkets will need to be out and about to find food, including those who may not be well? Wouldn't that then mean, by hoarding, we have helped to escalate the spread which will eventually bring this risk back to us?

She's confident that if and when the situation escalates, we have enough resources - food and all, for everyone. These resources should be and would be better managed at the national level by the Government so that everyone can be taken care of. Because we are all on this same boat together, choppy waters and all. But we can ride this storm out together only if we look out for each other, especially those with less. So please don't tip the boat over with too much weight on your side with the hoard load - keep calm and keep our boat afloat! πŸ’ͺπŸ™πŸ˜˜

PS: She's not sure it's helpful to share posts and pics on the empty shelves and long queues because we stoke more panic. Watch out for too!

May we end the year with gentle kindness for ourselves, our family, our community and all beings on this beautiful blue planet.

is, once again as every year, inviting you (as she does for her) to have an intimate date with yourself to reflect on the year that's coming to a close and if you wish, also the decade. Because how we live each day/each week/each year is how we live this life. Because we know that we do not learn from experience, we learn from reflecting on experience. Because everything in our life is a reflection of our choices, so she thinks we can try to make these choices conscious. 😘

Only the gentle is ever really strong so the questions are meant for you to be gently honest with yourself. But if you are feeling ambitious, you could also reflect on 10 highlights, 10 disappointments, 3 game changers, 3 things you focused on and 3 things you forgot! 😜

If she had written a book about 2010s, it would be " : From boardroom to the mat to the hallowed chamber - huh, what the fiction just happened?". πŸ˜‚πŸ™ƒ

May we end the year with gentle kindness for ourselves, our family, our community and all beings on this beautiful blue planet.

Please support Anthea ONG and her NMP Collective of angels working hard to champion for more mental healthcare accessibility and quality in parliament by filing the form (if relevant) and/or sharing the post. Thanks much.

remembers it wasn't so long ago when she made an impassioned plea at Budget 2019 for Mental Health to be accorded whole-of-government and national priority.

"Resilience and confidence is a result of a mentally healthy society... Therefore, mental wellbeing must be an ongoing national and whole-of-government priority with the recognition that our quality of life is defined not only by markers of economic growth and our material wellbeing but also our subjective well being. We must constantly question if our national policies and spending empower, beyond just enabling, our people to be ready for challenges ahead and confident of our future." (Full speech: https://medium.com//mental-health-must-be-a-whole-of-government-priority-e52523d30ccc)

The landscape has changed considerably since, super yay! Her resolve to push for more to be done to address Mental Health is stronger than ever. With the increased awareness, we must now improve mental healthcare accessibility (including cost) and mental healthcare quality. We must highlight challenges faced by and improvements required to meet the unique needs of specific communities like (1) seniors, (2) low income households, (3) differently-abled communities and (4) migrant workers.

MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS: ARE WE DOING ENOUGH? Beyond grateful for her awesome working group. We are now prepping for Budget 2020 and need your help to gather deeper insights to support our parliamentary work to champion mental healthcare accessibility and quality for all, including the vulnerable groups.

So please support us:
