Is Zhang Linghe 张凌赫 from Pursuit of Jade 逐玉 (Zhu Yu) the most handsome Chinese actor? I can see why Zhang Linghe looks so dashing in period dramas, from the perspective of an aesthetic doctor. His facial proportions are well balanced, and jawline definition and lower face angular are regarded as attractive in males. The skincare ingredient to watch this year is poly-D,L-lactic acid or PDLLA. Skincare brands have a tendency to ride on existing trend in aesthetic medicine and it’s not a surprise that PDLLA skincare is jumping on the bandwagon of PDLLA skinboosters or biostimulators which are popular in Singapore and Korea. Keep it one hundred on the land, the sea, the sky in the Côte d’Azur. Yesterday in after coffee in , I headed to Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and an afternoon in the lemon capital of France, Menton. Will miss the being so near the water all the time in the French Riviera. The views are stunning, and the air is so fresh here!

Yesterday in after coffee in , I headed to Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and an afternoon in the lemon capital of France, Menton. Taking a little time off to see the rest of the South of France and a dose of vitamin sea over the weekend. Went to Villefranche Sur Mer for the sparkly blue waters and colourful houses, the charming Eze village and back to Nice for the weekend markets and the best coffees. Onwards to the the rest of the Côte d’Azur, see you back in the clinic soon 🌊

Spring in the French Riviera is very beautiful. I’m in Nice for that’s held in Monaco, so I took some time to see the town because of my early flight in. It’s been 20 years since I last came to Cote d’AZur and it’s a lot more pretty than I remember it to be. I took a walk (for coffee!!) along Avenue Jean Medicin to hunt down then headed to Cours Saleya for the flower market and ended up staying for the food and art. Lunch was in Vieux Nice at for traditional Nicoise cuisine and finally, the beach for the azure water views. C’était une belle journée.

Spring in the French Riviera is very beautiful. I’m in Nice for that’s held in Monaco, so I took some time to see the town because of my early flight in. Everyone's criticising Dr Barbara Sturm's WSJ interview, but there's the take that skincare founders don't want you to know as they emphasise her clinical errors and pile-on about her being an orthopaedic doctor is creating a dangerous blind spot.

Whilewe debate the credibility of a doctor from a different specialty, we are saying nothing about skincare brands launched by people with no relevant background in the field whatsoever, even if they have an undying passion for skincare.
Here's the uncomfortable truth: many brands come from contract manufacturers, so don't be surprised if you find that skincare can feel similar across brands. The real problem is not the founder but the commoditisation of the beauty industry.

For any brand owner reading this: the brands that will matter in ten years are the ones that can answer these questions clearly: What is the evidence? What independent testing supports the efficacy claims? What is the evidence?

Don't buy skincare blindly. Save this before your next skincare purchase.
