At our clinic, learning goes beyond doctors. We believe our nurses deserve the best exposure too. Here’s Denise’s, our nurse and clinic manager, experience from her recent overseas training in London.

Denise’s sharing:
This experience deepened my understanding of nurse-led pathways in prostate cancer and benign urology, strengthening my confidence in managing patients and improving outcomes. I gained insights into conditions like urolithiasis, LUTS, continence issues, and urosepsis, while reinforcing the importance of evidence-based care and lifestyle factors. Exposure to urology services at Guy’s Hospital also provided valuable practical context, enhancing my ability to deliver holistic, patient-centred care.

Advancing Circumcision Care with Shang Ring Certification

Dr Nathaniel Heah recently travelled to Kunming to complete his certification in the use of the Shang Ring — an innovative, minimally invasive alternative to conventional surgical circumcision.

The Shang Ring utilizes a suture-free “clamp and collar” design, allowing the procedure to be safely performed in a clinic setting under local anaesthesia or light sedation, without the need for a full operating theatre.

The device gently secures the fo****in in place to facilitate natural healing, eliminating the need for stitches. Patients typically wear the ring for 7 to 10 days, after which it is removed during a quick follow-up visit.

This technique offers a predictable, blood-sparing option with excellent cosmetic outcomes, enhancing both patient comfort and recovery experience.

At Urohealth, we remain committed to adopting evidence-based innovations and continuously upgrading our expertise to provide the best care for our patients.

When it comes to male fertility, not all s***m factors carry the same weight. Here’s a simple way to understand their importance:

🥇 Motility (movement) – This is the most critical. S***m must be able to swim forward efficiently to reach and fertilise the egg.

🥈 Count (concentration) – Higher numbers increase the chances that enough healthy s***m make it to the egg, but count alone isn’t everything.

🥉 Morphology (shape) – Shape matters, but it’s often less important than movement and count. Even men with lower “normal forms” can achieve natural pregnancy.

🏅 DNA integrity – Increasingly recognised as vital. Good DNA quality supports healthy fertilisation, embryo development, and reduces miscarriage risk.

✨ The key takeaway: Fertility is not defined by a single number. It’s the overall function and quality of s***m that contribute to your fertility potential.

If you’ve been trying for a while, a proper fertility evaluation can provide clarity and options. Knowledge empowers the journey.

Your bladder is NOT small. Here are some reasons why you may p*e so often.

Frequent urination does not always mean a “weak” or “small” bladder. Common reasons include:
• Drinking fluids too frequently (even small sips add up)
• Caffeine or alcohol irritating the bladder
• Bladder sensitivity or overactive bladder
• Stress and anxiety increasing bladder signals

If it is affecting your sleep or daily life, it is worth getting it checked. Your bladder might just be over-signalling, not failing.
