What causes the high rate of osteoarthritis at the patella femoral joint 10 years after an ACL reconstruction. We think it is probably due to some of the exercises and deep squats, and a lack of quadriceps strength throughout the rehab add to these degenerative changes at 10 years.

How to approach a double knee replacement?

It’s too difficult to do both knees at the same time, with an increase likelihood of complications. It is better to do them one at a time, and do the first knee replacement with at least eight weeks of physio, and then the second knee replacement.

“Why isn’t my knee straight following my ACL surgery?”

It’s crucial to gain full extension following an ACL operation. Our main concern if we can’t is poor tunnel positioning.
