Some advice on what to watch out for on a personal basis as society opens up. I would add night clubs, karaoke and pubs to the professor's list.

Be safe everybody. Wear your mask properly and wash your hands frequently.

"They are particularly popular among senior folks, who probably find these gadgets more comfortable than face masks in the hot and humid weather."

And also among the young. The 3 young men manning a carrot stall in Clementi Central hawker centre were also wearing these "masks" that claims to give off chlorine dioxide, creating a cloud that envelops the wearer and thereby protecting the wearer by killing viruses and bacteria.

They are unfortunately sold locally by a company called Ecom Singapore and they claim that their masks "work harder than a conventional mask". It was sold even at Takashimaya (which has since pulled the web page from their website).

These "masks" do NOT work against the Covid-19 virus.

Don't take any chances, wear your face mask.

How to wash your hands like a pro. No need to sing "Happy Birthday". Twice.
Just follow the steps.
Do 3-4 reps of steps 2 - 7, do 2 sets and you're done. Don't rush and you'll hit 20 seconds. Easily.
Try to use the elbow to turn the water on and off. If the tap is the screw type, use a paper towel to avoid direct contact.
Similarly for hand rubs - 3-4 reps of steps 2 to 7, 2 sets and you're done.
