3 months ago, she walked into the studio with back pain that had already become part of her daily life.
Before coming for yoga therapy, the doctor gave her 2 options —
“Learn to live with it”… or surgery.
And honestly, that sentence stayed with her for a long time.
You know that kind of pain where it’s not “serious enough” for people to panic… but it quietly affects everything?
Standing too long feels uncomfortable.
Shoulders always feel tight.
Lower back constantly tired.
Body always feels “heavy”.
After awhile, many people slowly accept pain as their “normal”.
What we worked on was not just “stretching the back”.
We looked at how her whole body was compensating.
Her posture, breathing, pelvic position, upper back tension, standing habits, movement patterns… everything matters.
Slowly, week by week, the body started changing.
Less guarding.
Less tension.
More support.
More awareness.
More ease.
Today, her back pain is gone.
“First time in a long while, I had run without having any pain, she delightfully shared!”
But honestly, our favourite part is not even the posture changes (though those are beautiful too). It is seeing someone move with confidence again and no longer feeling trapped inside their own body.
Sometimes people think yoga therapy is about difficult poses.
Actually… most of the time, it is about teaching the body how to feel safe, supported and balanced again.
3 months.
Consistent work.
Small corrections.
Big difference.
The body truly keeps score… but it also has an incredible ability to heal when given the right support. 🌿
