Recently, our Alexandra Hospital senior leaders and Healthcare Services Employees' Union (HSEU) partners gathered for an Iftar with our Muslim colleagues.

Beyond the shared meal, the evening was a reminder that our strength lies in the community we build together, grounded in understanding, respect, and appreciation for the diverse backgrounds in our workplace.

Our heartfelt thanks to our Muslim colleagues for their dedication to caring for patients during this holy month, and for welcoming us to share in this meaningful occasion.

Could preventing chronic disease start with something as simple as a smartwatch? โŒš

Alexandra Hospitalโ€™s ACTIVATION research initiative, led by Dr Alexander Yip, AH Clinical Director of Healthcare Redesign, is exploring how digital technology can empower healthier lifestyles. Launched in August 2024, the study has recruited 1,700 adults aged 21โ€“75 at risk of hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and obesity.

Using smartwatches, lifestyle tracking, personalised nudges and digital health coaching, the initiative explores how technology can motivate lasting lifestyle changes.

Our Story

Alexandra Hospital is the first integrated general hospital in Singapore that provides a single continuum of care across different settings -- from acute, sub-acute to rehabilitative care -- under one roof. Care is anchored by a team with a principal doctor, and provided through five key programmes. These programmes cover preventive care, one-stop/one-bed inpatient acute care, chronic care, healthy ageing, and palliative care. The healthcare team and its care managers work closely with patients, families and community partners to initiate clinical and social interventions early. The aim is to provide as seamless and holistic of an experience as possible, with the best patient outcomes, by being the patientโ€™s link to the National University Health Systemโ€™s (NUHS) members, GPs, Polyclinics, VWOs and social care partners.
