Kidney Singapore Nurses Spotlight

Today, we shine a light on Nurse Manager Li Jinli from Ghim Moh Dialysis Centre — a quiet pillar of strength who has spent over 11 years walking alongside our patients through their most challenging journeys.

Through the years, it’s the patients who have left the deepest impression on her. As she shares:

“Every patient’s resilience and positivity despite years of dialysis inspire me to create a supportive environment for all.”

Her patients have taught her that true strength lies in showing up — even on the hardest days — and that in the face of illness, it is often they who teach us the most about courage, hope, and quiet determination.

Thank you, Nurse Manager Li Jinli, for showing us the true meaning of resilience in care. 💙

💙 Happy Nurses’ Day to our incredible team at Kidney Singapore! 💙

Last Friday, we celebrated you — the heart of our dialysis centres and the ones who make healing possible.

From long shifts to quiet gestures of care, your dedication touches lives in ways that words often can’t.

We also took the opportunity to visit and thank our fellow nursing teams at Singapore General Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, and Woodlands Health — partners who share in our mission to provide compassionate renal care across the continuum.

Whether you're lifting a patient’s spirits, catching a worrying sign before anyone else, or simply being that reassuring presence — you are making a difference every single day.

To thank you for your tireless work, each Kidney Singapore nurse received a cosy KIDDI and NINI blanket, along with our brand-new corporate jacket — a small token of appreciation for the warmth you bring to our patients’ lives. 🧸🩵

A special moment came when Suzie from Fresenius Medical Care shared reflections from her journey in dialysis nursing. Her reminder that few professions walk so closely with patients through life resonated deeply with our team — a powerful validation of the work you do every day.

Thank you for your strength, your care, and your heart. You are the reason our patients continue their journey with courage. Let’s keep walking with them — and with each other.

Now available at FunClaw outlets islandwide, these aren’t just adorable companions. Unzip them to reveal a full-sized blanket — perfect for cosy evenings, heartfelt hugs, or comforting cuddle sessions.

But what makes them truly special?
Every play on FunClaw’s KIDDI and NINI machines helps fund life-saving dialysis treatments for patients at Kidney Singapore. Behind every blanket is a story of strength — and every try is a small act of kindness that brings comfort to our kidney patients in need.

📸 Caught your own blanket? Snap a photo, tag and Fun Claw on Instagram, and use or to enter our giveaway by 31 August 2025 for a chance to win exciting prizes!

Kidney Singapore Nurses Spotlight

Today, we shine a light on Deputy Nurse Manager Yi Hong Yan from Bishan Dialysis Centre — a pillar of strength and compassion who has been part of the Kidney Singapore family for over 15 years.

Hong Yan starts each day by caring for dialysis patients, ensuring they feel supported, comfortable, and treated with dignity through every step of their treatment. As she puts it:

“My day starts with patient care and ends with empowerment. From dialysis to documentation, every task is about making sure our patients feel seen and supported.”

To her, nursing is about more than clinical routines — it’s about presence, purpose, and walking alongside each patient in their kidney health journey. Whether it’s managing care or offering reassurance, she brings heart and clarity to every moment.

Thank you, Deputy Nurse Manager Yi Hong Yan, for showing us what it means to lead with empathy and serve with purpose. 💙

📚 The Kidney Singapore Human Library — Chapter Three: Real Stories, Real Conversations

Our third Human Library session was a powerful reminder of the strength it takes to live with — and rise above — chronic illness.

We opened the session with a brief welcome by Mr Gary Chia, Managing Director of Pharm-D Singapore Pte Ltd who shared a few words on the importance of kidney care and healthy eating, timely reminders amid the rise in CKD cases.

The heart of the session was our Human Book — Mr Selvaraja S/O Mayandy, a Kidney Singapore patient who bravely shared his personal journey living with kidney failure. His reflections on resilience, loss, and purpose offered attendees a powerful window into the lived realities of CKD.

After the session, attendees came together to reflect, exchange ideas, reaffirm the value of empathy in health advocacy, and the importance of kidney health.

✨ A heartfelt thank you to the participants who joined us and continue to walk alongside us in building a kinder, more informed kidney health community, and also Pharm-D Singapore Pte Ltd for hosting this session and supporting the Kidney Singapore Human Library initiative.

Let’s keep the conversations going in our Kidney Singapore Human Library and beyond, one story and one step at a time, towards healthier kidneys for all. 💙

Your kidneys work around the clock, keeping you alive and well.

They filter out waste, balance your fluids, and power your body every day.

That’s why every choice you make matters.

🍎 Swap the chips for apple slices.
🚶‍♂️ Go for a walk around your block before heading home.

🗣️ Replace your smoke break with a stretch or a short chit chat with your friends.

Every small action adds up — not just for you, but for a future where healthier kidneys are a reality for all.

Start today, your kidneys deserve better, and so do you. 💪
