Learning, laughter, and connection โ all in a day. ๐
Twice a year, our patients step out of the dialysis centre for a day that nourishes not just the body, but the mind and spirit too. This round, we had the biggest turnout of over 200 patients and caregivers!
Yesterdayโs outing was one such day. We began the morning at HomeTeamNS Khatib, where LTA Ng from the 3rd Singapore Civil Defence Force Division HQ, Community Engagement Branch, shared practical lessons on fire safety โ from preventing potential fire hazards to what to do in the event of a fire, especially for patients with limited mobility. These sessions complement our regular fire drills at KDF centres and empower patients and caregivers with life-saving knowledge. ๐
The afternoon brought a refreshing change of pace at the newly revamped Sentosa Oceanarium. Surrounded by family and the serene beauty of marine life, our patients rediscovered a sense of wonder, laughter, and calm that only the sea can bring. ๐
At KDF, we believe that care extends beyond dialysis. Through education, companionship, and shared experiences, we nurture not only healthier kidneys โ but a stronger sense of community.
A heartfelt thank you to our CabbyCare volunteers from ComfortDelGro Taxi โ all 53 of them โ for ferrying our wheelchair-bound patients safely to and from the event. And to our Patient Welfare and Clinical Services teams, for making this day possible.
Your dedication continues to uplift the body, mind, and spirit of our patients. ๐
