As rising kidney disease rates place increasing pressure on dialysis services, community support โ through ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ฌ and ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ง๐ โ remains essential to ensuring patients continue to receive the critical care they need.
KDF is deeply grateful for the continued generosity of our donors. Their support enables ๐ด๐ญ% ๐จ๐ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฉ๐๐ญ๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ซ๐๐๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ข๐๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ณ๐๐ซ๐จ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ-๐จ๐-๐ฉ๐จ๐๐ค๐๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ, ensuring help reaches those who are most financially vulnerable.
We are also uncompromising when it comes to the quality of medical care we provide. Across all our centres, patients are treated using ๐
๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ฑ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ด๐ dialysis machines, which are haemodiafiltration-capable, alongside ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ-๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฆ๐ฌ that support safer and more personalised treatment.
Beyond dialysis, KDF supports patientsโ ๐ต๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐๐๐ถ๐ฐ, ๐น๐ผ๐ป๐ด-๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐บ ๐๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ถ๐ป๐ด through programmes such as:
๐ตPhysiotherapy Fall Risk Management Programme
๐ตNutritional guidance
๐ตSocio-emotional support through regular patient engagement activities
This comprehensive model of care is made possible by the continued generosity of the public. As Singapore strengthens its kidney care ecosystem, sustained community support remains vital in enabling service providers like KDF to meet patients where they are.
Donor support has also enabled key investments such as the opening of our ๐๐ฑ๐บ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ธ ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ฒ in 2022, which continues to have the capacity to serve more patients.
Beyond treatment, we continue ๐๐ฝ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ ๐ฒ๐ณ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ to improve kidney health literacy through public education events and ongoing communications, helping more Singaporeans take action earlier to protect their kidney health.
We thank Jia Wen and her team for bringing attention to this important issue.

As existing resources are continually stretched thinner and thinner, experts and dialysis providers say it is crucial for Singapore to explore more preventive screening and home-based alternatives like peritoneal dialysis.
