[Research Study Volunteers Needed]
Researchers from James Cook University (Singapore Campus) are looking for participants to take part in a research study that seeks to understand the stressors that sexual minority and gender diverse couples (i.e., members of the LGBTQ+ community) face and the ways in which they cope with and overcome such stressors in Singapore.
The eligibility criteria for the study are as follows:
- Participants must be 18 years of age or older,
- Participants must be Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents,
- Potential participants must currently live or be predominantly located in Singapore, as the project seeks to understand minority stress and structural stigma experiences grounded in the Singapore context.
- Participants must currently be in a long-term romantic relationship for at least six months with only one other person who identifies as a sexual minority and/or gender diverse individual.
- Must not be currently raising children (below the age of 18 years) with their partner.
* Please note that if your partner has participated in this study, you will not be eligible to participate, as we seek to gather varied relationship experiences and stressors faced by sexual minority and gender diverse couples in Singapore.
If eligible to participate, you will be invited to complete a survey (~30 minutes), submit a relationship map (~ 30 minutes), and participate in a one-on-one online interview on Microsoft Teams (~ 60 to 90 minutes).
No forms of personal identifiers will be collected as part of the study. All information gathered during the study will be kept strictly confidential. Participants who complete the study will receive a SGD35 FairPrice voucher as a token of appreciation for their time and effort.
