Blank Canvas is proud to present: Kerta – Tales of a Village

A showcase of paintings by Balinese artist, I Made Artayasa, mirrored by the response works of Fijeanty de Wit, an art therapist volunteering in Bali.

The exhibition reflects upon the therapeutic role of art and of the artist in a small Balinese community. Through the representation and externalisation of the repressed emotions, denial and taboos of the village, the artist creates a visual tale, a narrative that the community can process, offering cathartic release of tensions, and restoring cohesiveness.

Exhibition Dates: 26 June – 19 July 2015,
2:00pm-6:00pm
(Closed on Monday)
