โ„๐Ÿ’™ Leading the way for minimally-invasive heart surgery, NUHCS is the first in Singapore to provide a keyhole surgical treatment for abnormal heart rhythm disorder - also known as Atrial Fibrillation (AF) - in the presence of other heart valve diseases, helping patients with these complex conditions ๐’‰๐’†๐’‚๐’ ๐’‡๐’‚๐’”๐’•๐’†๐’“ ๐’˜๐’Š๐’•๐’‰ ๐’๐’†๐’”๐’” ๐’‘๐’‚๐’Š๐’.

Traditionally, heart valve disorders complicated by AF can only be treated through an open-chest surgery via a midline incision.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš• Today, Dr Chang Guohao, Consultant, Division of Adult Cardiac Surgery, Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS), NUHCS, explained how this new technique uses just small incisions between the ribs to access the heart ๐Ÿซ€to treat irregular heartbeats and at the same time, surgically treat heart valve disorders, that could result in heart failure or other complications.
