At NUCOHS, we are glad to do our part in making dental care more accessible and comfortable for persons with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs) and individuals on the autism spectrum (ASD).

Clinic visits can be overwhelming, and our teams work hard to adapt care to each patient’s comfort level with compassion, patience and respect.

We appreciate the Taskforce’s visit and their commitment to strengthening inclusive, patient‑centered care. Together with our partners, we’ll continue working towards a dental care system where every patient and caregiver can access support with ease and peace of mind.

After our first community event for World Oral Health Day, we are kicking off more outreach sessions to promote awareness on the importance of oral health, starting with elderly residents at Bukit Batok Zone 2 💙

One of our Oral Health Therapists, Mun Ning recently conducted a community oral health talk in both English and Mandarin, sharing practical tips on:

✅ Maintaining good oral health
✅ Common conditions like tooth decay and gum disease
✅ Key red flags to watch out for
✅ Daily oral hygiene practices for long-term oral health

These sessions aim to empower residents with knowledge and encourage preventive care for healthier smiles at every age. Stay tuned as we continue to expand our community outreach efforts! 😉

Thank you to all the residents who joined us at the inaugural World Oral Health Day celebration at Keat Hong CC. We were honoured to have Mr. Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Social and Family Development, and Member of Parliament for Chua Chu Kang GRC, grace the event and support our efforts to bring oral health education into the community.

Over 100 residents took part in the oral health screening, while many others enjoyed our interactive booths, photo corner, and exhibition panels.

Our fireside chat, “The Oral Truth: What Everyone Should Know,” empowered residents with practical knowledge from infancy to the golden years and gave them the chance to ask our specialist panel their most important oral health questions.

A heartfelt thank you to our partners from National University Polyclinics, Nanyang Polytechnic, NUS Faculty of Dentistry, People's Association, and Keat Hong Constituency for journeying with us to make this inaugural celebration possible.
