Celebrate Recovery Singapore

Celebrate Recovery Singapore Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind. Romans 7:18 NIV

2.

Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find community and freedom from the issues that are controlling our life. Celebrate Recovery 12 Steps and Biblical Comparisons

1. We admitted we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviors, that our lives had become unmanageable. "I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but

I cannot carry it out." We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. "For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. "

Philippians 2:13 NIV

3. We made a decision to turn our lives and our wills over to the care of God. "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. "

Romans 12:1 NIV

4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. "Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord. "

Lamentations 3:40 NIV

5. We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. "

James 5:16a NIV

6. We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. "

James 4:10 NIV

7. We humbly asked Him to remove all our shortcomings. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. "

1 John 1:9 NIV

8. We made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. "Do to others as you would have them do to you. "

Luke 6:31 NIV

9. We made direct amends to such people whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. "Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift. "

Matthew 5:23-24 NIV

10. We continue to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it. "So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! "

1 Corinthians 10:12

11. We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us, and power to carry that out. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. "

Colossians 3:16a NIV

12. Having had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to others and practice these principles in all our affairs. "Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore them gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. "

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

At Celebrate Recovery, we believe healing is possible—spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Many of us carry silent battles: anxiety, depression, past trauma, or the weight of addiction. But we are not alone.

Reflection:
Recovery isn't just about breaking free from hurts, hang-ups and habits —it's about renewing our minds and hearts. When life feels too heavy, we remember that our strength doesn’t come from within alone. It comes from Christ. His power meets us in our weakness, and His grace carries us through.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

Whether you're in the middle of your recovery journey or just taking your first step, know that your mental health matters to God. You are not forgotten. You are loved. And you are stronger than you think—because Christ is with you.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the promise of strength in our weakness. In times of fear, confusion, or darkness, help us to rely on You. Heal the broken places in our minds and hearts. Surround us with people who remind us we’re not alone. Give us courage to seek help, speak up, and walk forward in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🌱 “Recovery is not about perfection. It’s about progress.” 🌱

Reflection:
Recovery isn’t a straight line. Some days feel strong, others feel like starting over—but that’s okay. God isn’t asking for perfection. He’s asking for willing hearts and faithful steps. Progress is still progress, even if it’s slow. And every step forward is a step toward freedom, healing, and hope.

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 1:6 (NIV)

No matter where you are on your journey, you don’t have to walk it alone. At Celebrate Recovery, we support each other through honest connection, encouragement, and God’s grace.

Come as you are. There’s a seat for you. 💙

Have you ever taken the trash out, not on time? What happens? When you’re late taking out the trash, you miss the trash truck. And when that happens, you end up with more garbage. You hold on to it and wait for the next time to "take out the trash". More trash, more mess. It can become unsightly and it can be embarrassing.

In the same way we can find ourselves outside of recovery waiting for the right moment to bring our mess to the curb. We might feel that it’s too soon or not the right time, so we procrastinate. We worry about how others will see us. Or we may feel helpless and conclude that it’s just too late to even bother.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”(Romans 5:8)

It doesn’t say that He waited for us to stop sinning, He came at just the right time…while we were utterly helpless and while we were still sinning. What a timely answer from a patient and loving God!

Today, will you make up your mind to trust God’s timing and His process? Roll that old way of thinking out to the curb, throw away those bad habits, change your people, places, and things. It's never too late to take out the trash and take a step toward recovery because God is always on time.

Did you know there are Celebrate Recovery groups across the globe?

This evening we had the pleasure of habing the North East & Scotland Representative from the UK, Catherine Robinson, share her testimony with a group in Singapore!

Catherine says,

“I love that we have CR family all over the world. Sharing how God set me free from eating disorders and is healing me from hurts, is one of my favourite parts of serving at Celebrate Recovery. Testimonies of changed lives give hope to others who struggle with hurts, hang-ups or habits. And as we share how Jesus has transformed us, our own recoveries are strengthened!

CR Singapore, thank you for inviting me!”

Thank you Catherine for sharing with us, it was a powerful teatimony that we all could learn from.

God bless!

Pastor Johnny Baker shared that many bad habits result from underlying hurt or pain, which needs to be tackled first. What
might seem like the problem is often a symptom, and we must handle what lies underneath it. Whether breaking a bad habit or developing a healthy one, it all starts with addressing the roots of the hurt or pain.

Luke 11:24-26
“What happens when an evil spirit comes out of a person? It goes through dry areas, looking for a place to rest. But it doesn’t find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ 25 When it arrives there, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. 26 Then the evil spirit goes and takes seven other spirits more evil than itself. They go in and live there. That person is worse off than before.”
