Attended GP plus 7th anniversary’s dinner. Meet many colleagues and friends. In GP plus coop, we believe in setting a reliable network of primary and tertiary care among GPs and Specialists to give the best care for our patients. We also celebrate the retirement of an GP , Tan Geok Jim. We also have excellent CME talk by Dr Wong Wen Kin, Dr Gowreeson and Dr Leong Chuo Ren.. it was a great evening of celebration and learning. Thank you Coop for organizing the celebration and CME talk.

Am honored to be invited to the opening of the last ward ie Ward 6C, the Royal Suite, in Mount E Orchard with all the senior doctors!

This marks the end of ward renovation. Many thanks to our patients who tolerated the disturbances and noise. Kudos to the nurses because they were in the ward the entire time. We used to joke - make an appointment to see me if they need their ears/hearing checked. Fortunately, none came!😬 The hospital did a good job in preventing noise injury. They had been monitoring the decibel closely to make sure the renovation noise isn’t too loud. Well done hospital! 👍

“Cradle to Memory” Exhibition.

If you are in Mount Elizabeth Hospital, don’t miss this! The hospital underwent its major renovation since 1979. It’s near completion. Many memories were made in this building. As part of retaining this memory of the people and the items used in the past, NUS Division of Industrial Design was engaged to recycle items used frequently in the hospital into artistic pierces.

The students did an amazing job! Bedside OT lamps made into artistic shades; wall tiles into musical pieces; OT gowns into cushions. Call bells and old wall clocks were some of the items remake into unbelievably creative pieces! Each creation also tells the stories of the people using them over the years!

Happy Father’s Day. The less celebrated parent day. The hero who is not home most times cos he needs to bring in the bread. The hero who brings stability and safety to the house to allow us to thrive within a safe space. Wish all fathers, the silent hero, a great Father’s Day!

It’s been a while IHH organized a medical seminar (in person). The topic lined up today show case all the new technologies and advances in medicine. Eg, Biomarkers to diagnose dementia, advance endoscopic heart valve placement that replace open heart surgery, minimal invasive spine surgery, and new medicine for headaches! Enjoy the chance to learn about advances in field outside ENT. Makes me a more rounded doctor. Thank you IHH for the opportunity. 😃

Attended the local ENT SOCIETY congress over the weekend. It’s great to meet many friends again from the region. This year, we had 3 tracks - (Nose), (Ear) and with some and aesthetics. The meeting was well run and there were many great talks. It’s always good to be updated and a chance to find out what the region and the world is doing. A busy but fulfilling weekend.

Today is World sleep Day! World Sleep Day is an awareness activity of World Sleep Society, founded by World Association of Sleep Medicine (WASM) and World Sleep Federation (WSF). This day is created to celebrate the importance of healthy sleep.

Sleep is the time when our body recuperate and recharge, clears the brain of 'toxins', forms memory, strengthens our immune system and regulate our mood. Hence, it is paramount to have a sufficient hours of good quality sleep.

Let's remind ourselves to sleep well so we can live well!

It’s not seed, not a pea or cotton bud. It’s giant removed from the ears! Super satisfying! Hearing restored! With the right tools and skills, the removal was quick, painless and satisfying.
