The Life Celebrant

The Life Celebrant A Funeral is not a day in a life, but a Lifetime in a Day.™

Attention to details is our specialty

Angjolie Mei, who is a certified funeral celebrant, funeral director, as well as a financial advisory representative, aspires to combine the funeral and financial industries into a one-stop “cradle to grave” service to the community. She hopes this would enable her to continue her father’s legacy of “Ang Yew Seng Funeral Parlour” and better it together with “The Life Celebrant”. The Life Celebrant

’s services will encompass:

- pre-planning and pre-arrangement before one’s death to pave the way for those left behind, eg: Emotional Wills, Trusts and Advanced Medical Directive
- funeral pre-planning arrangement
- organizing funerals, and
- post-funeral administration eg: guidance to relevant legal advisers to administer the estate

Angjolie and her team also provide awareness seminars to various corporations and organizations, on the importance of pre-planning in funeral arrangement to help families prepare for the inevitable eventuality.”

In her words, Angjolie says, “I hope through giving extra care and through innovation, The Life Celebrant may bring about the changes needed to make funerals more meaningful to both the lives of the deceased and their loved ones”.

Would You Pay to Talk to a Loved One… Forever? 💭

AI is now offering something once thought impossible— a way to “talk” to the deceased. Chatbots can simulate conversations, recreating voices and memories. But is this a tool for healing or a trap?

Imagine coming home every night, turning on your computer, and speaking to an AI version of someone you’ve lost. Does it bring comfort, or does it keep you stuck in grief?

And here’s the big question— should grief be monetized? Some companies are already offering lifetime subscriptions to keep the conversation going. But at what cost?

💬 Would you use AI to “speak” to a loved one, or should we learn to let go? Let me know what you think about this.

Remembering Barbie Hsu (1976-2025): The beloved Taiwanese actress, best known for her role in "Meteor Garden," has passed away at 48 due to pneumonia complications.

This devastating news has shocked many.

Barbie Hsu’s sudden passing at 48 reminds us how fragile life can be. While she was a household name, adored by many, death does not discriminate. It arrives unexpectedly, sometimes without warning, leaving loved ones with grief, unanswered questions, and decisions they may not be ready to make.

As a funeral director, I often see families struggling to make choices during their most painful moments. They wonder: Would she have wanted a quiet send-off? A celebration of life? A certain song played? These are questions that could have been answered if only we speak about them earlier.

Talking about death is not morbid—it’s responsible, and it’s an act of love. It’s about making sure our loved ones aren’t left guessing. Whether it’s choosing a funeral style, a preferred resting place, or even just writing a letter to your family, planning ahead gives clarity and peace of mind.

Barbie Hsu’s legacy will live on in the hearts of many. But her passing is also a wake-up call for all of us: Life is unpredictable, but we can still shape how we are remembered.

Have you ever thought about what you’d want for your own farewell? It’s never too early to start the conversation. 💭

What an honor to serve on the EO Singapore board and be part of this insightful dialogue with DPM Heng Swee Keat—who even shared a photo with us in his post!

We discussed some of the most pressing issues shaping the future—AI, globalization, manpower challenges, and leadership.

My persona key takeaways:
✔️ Entrepreneurial Leadership – Vision and unwavering focus are necessary in shaping any business or organization.
✔️ No Sunset Industries, Only Sunset Thinking – The world is changing fast; businesses must innovate or risk becoming irrelevant.
✔️ AI & Digitalization – Those who embrace AI will lead. It’s time to adapt, learn, and integrate AI into our businesses.
✔️ Global Positioning – Singapore’s strength is in being a trusted hub for innovation and partnerships.
✔️ Sustainability & Future-Proofing – Sustainability is no longer an option; it’s a business advantage.
✔️ Resilience & Leadership – Grit, adaptability, and a strong support system are key to success.

Serving on the EO Singapore board has been a truly humbling and rewarding experience. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible! Excited to apply these lessons in my own journey.

🎙️ Dying to Read You - I’m Glad My Mum Died (Part 3 of 3) 📚

I never really stopped to think about just how much our parents shape us as we get older. We often assume their influence is strongest when we’re kids, but have you ever paused to reflect on how much of who we are today is shaped by the lessons, guidance, and love they’ve given us over the years? It's only now, as I look back, that I realize just how deeply my mum’s impact still affects me in everything I do.

In this episode, I dive into I Am Glad My Mum Died, a powerful memoir by Jennette McCurdy, and reflect on how our parents' influence stays with us long after we’ve grown. Her story of trying to live out her mother’s dreams made me think about my own journey, the wisdom I inherited, and how it guides my work today. Tune in to hear how my mum’s legacy continues to shape me and the work I do with families. 🎙️❤️

Thank you for watching this series of Dying To Read You about this incredible! I hope to share more interesting book reviews with you all soon.
