Security Alert: Nepal - Escalating Unrest

Mass protests since September 8, 2025 have led to curfews, road closures, and airport shutdowns in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and other cities. Disruptions to travel, internet, and essentials are expected to continue.

EMA Global advises avoiding non-essential travel, staying clear of protest sites, and following official advisories.

The forum will explore how medical directors make patient safety decisions before each medevac flight, often remotely and independently. It will also discuss whether a helpline or second opinion service could support MDs in these critical moments. While accreditation organisations provide guidance on operational safety, there are currently no universal guidelines on clinical safety.
