Seeing Muneera Fontaine updated profile photo, I feel compelled to share something about her. I am honored to highlight Muneera, one of our first ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐๐โข. When I first introduced myself to a Facebook group for birthworkers in my area, few reached out to a newcomerโbut Muneera did. Meeting her in person, I was impressed by her journey: she possess a doctorate, is a full time educator, yet she listens to her inner calling as a healer, continuing her path in birth work! She has a strong presence in the birth scene, and I often seek her guidance. Mark my wordsโI have no doubt she will join the ranks of the "grand midwives" in her community.
One profound moment from our retreat in Malaysia was when I got lost and found Muneera sitting alone, reflecting in a surauโa mini mosque. She shared how challenging it had been to make the journey, and when she walked into the surau, she was struck by its name, Surau Ar-Rahmah, which is her mother's name! She knew then she was exactly where she was meant to be; it felt like a divine sign. Mashallah!
Witnessing her connect so deeply with her spirituality and purpose was incredibly inspiring. Her ability to listen to her heart and follow the gentle whispers of guidance is a true gift. I am grateful to walk this path alongside Muneera and hope to inspire change together as Postpartum Matron! ๐
