a)Anecdotal evidence shows that Hijama is useful for both restoring proper blood flow to the brain (in cases of ischaemia) as well as reducing pressure in the brain when it is high. Hijama may therefore be useful in the prevention and treatment of stroke, and it is also noted for its ability to improve memory.

b)In a Korean study, Hijama was found to be superior to heat packs in improving neck pain, function and discomfort in cases of neck pain due to computer work.

c) Cholesterol and Triglycerides. In the Damascus study, subsequent to the Hijama procedure, noticeable decreases in cholesterol and triglyceride levels were observed in more than 75% of patients who exhibited high levels before Hijama.

d)It is noted that Hijama promotes the flow of energy in the blood. It removes toxins and other waste material from the blood. It helps fasten recovery time and people recover from diseases much faster after Hijama. a)Studies have showed that high transferrin saturation in the blood is correlated with increased incidence of cancer. Hijama (Cupping) therefore may be playing an important role in cancer prevention as it acts to remove a larger proportion of transferrin than is present in regular blood samples or blood donation.

b)In the Damascus study, subsequent to the Hijama procedure, noticeable decreases in cholesterol and triglyceride levels were observed in more than 75% of patients who exhibited high levels before Hijama. These indicators are associated with increased risk of heart disease and therefore suggest that Hijama can reduce the risk of heart disease when done correctly.

c)The Damascus study showed improvement in uric acid levels with more than two thirds of patients undergoing Hijama showing a decrease. This shows that Hijama can at least improve symptoms and is especially useful when done over the site of pain in the case of gout.

a)Public Library of Science published a review in 2012 of all studies that examined the efficacy of cupping therapy. Cupping therapy was significantly better at improving patients' health when combined with other treatments compared to the other treatments alone. These studies confirm that Hijama does not have adverse effects when done properly and more importantly confirms that it is indeed therapeutic in nature.
