Amoy Street Dental

Amoy Street Dental Amoy Street Dental was set up by Dr Jamie Lee to provide quality dental services to the community ba

Amoy Street Dental is situated in a classic shophouse on Amoy Street. We are a short walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station and in 2013, Telok Ayer MRT station on the new Downtown Line will be operational and less than 5min walk from Amoy Street Dental. We hope the timelessness of the area is reflected in both the interior aesthetic of the clinic and the dentistry that is performed.

Kids and chipped teeth - it happens faster than you can say “playtime!” When it does, staying calm and acting quickly can make all the difference. Simple steps like keeping the tooth moist and contacting your dentist right away can help save your child’s smile.

At Amoy Street Dental, we believe that caring for our patients goes far beyond creating healthy, confident smiles – it’s about protecting lives. 💙

Recently, our dedicated team took part in the Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification, reaffirming our commitment to safety and compassion, both inside and outside the clinic.

This experience reminded us that while our mission is to keep your smiles bright, our purpose runs deeper: to care for people, to protect lives, and to serve our community with heart. Whether it’s a dental emergency or a medical one, our team is now better prepared to respond with skill and compassion.

💬 Because beyond dentistry, we care for lives.

Wondering if amalgam fillings are safe?

Evidence and guidance from the WHO, ADA, and FDA indicate they’re considered safe, with mercury release measured at very low levels within established safety limits. So no need to panic-clean your “silver” fillings 😉. Replacement can make sense for appearance, decay under the filling, or cracks from long wear. Very deep or large fillings may be safer left in place after an X-ray review.

We had such a fun and memorable morning here at Amoy Street Dental! The preschoolers from LeClare Preschool came over for a special visit, and their energy and curiosity filled the clinic with so much joy. It was wonderful watching the kids explore and learn about how a dental clinic operates everything from the tools we use to the care we provide for healthy smiles. They were so eager to ask questions, laugh with us, and even try out some of the simple activities we prepared for them. The best part was seeing their big smiles and excitement as they discovered new things about dental health in such a playful, hands-on way. We truly loved hosting them, and we’re already looking forward to more visits like this in the future.

Brushing right after eating may do more harm than good. Dental experts warn that acids from foods and drinks temporarily soften tooth enamel, making it vulnerable to erosion if brushed too soon. Instead, it’s best to wait at least 30 minutes or up to an hour after acidic meals to allow saliva to naturally neutralize acids and strengthen enamel. In the meantime, rinsing with water can help protect teeth. Build healthier habits by timing your brushing wisely to maintain strong enamel, prevent erosion, and keep your smile bright and healthy for years to come.

At Amoy Street Dental, our caring team is here to guide you with the right habits and professional care. Visit or call us:

Root canal therapy preserves a tooth severely affected by decay, but the previous damage often leaves it structurally weaker. Over time, this weakened state may lead to cracks or fractures. Placing a crown provides essential protection, restores proper chewing function, and supports the long-term strength of the tooth.

If you’re unsure where to start, don’t leave your smile’s health to chance. Our friendly, professional team is always ready to help. Visit us at Amoy Street Dental, conveniently located in the heart of Singapore.

Fresh breath isn't the same as clean teeth. While mouthwash can give you that minty-fresh feeling, it doesn't remove plaque or protect your gums the way brushing and flossing do. Rinsing alone leaves behind harmful bacteria that cause cavities and gum disease. Brushing twice a day and flossing daily remain the gold standard for true oral health. Mouthwash is best used as a supplement, not a substitute. Remember, fresh breath is great, but keeping your teeth around is even better.
