This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the power of support. This year's theme, Give to Gain, is a reminder that when we uplift others, we create stronger teams and a culture where everyone can thrive.

Across Icon, small moments of support can make a real difference. Whether it is a mentor advocating for someone’s growth, someone creating space for women’s voices to be heard, or colleagues helping one another.

Colorectal cancer, also known as colon cancer, can affect any part of the large bowel (colon) and re**um.

In Singapore, colorectal cancer remains one of the leading cancers diagnosed each year.
Most cases occur in individuals aged 50 and above. It often develops silently with little to no symptoms in the early stages.

If you are 50 years or older, regular screening is key. Taking proactive steps today empowers you to safeguard your health for the future.

We wrapped up our Chinese New Year celebrations with special get-togethers over the past few days, bringing our doctors, surgeons, and partners together. It was a wonderful opportunity to step away from our busy schedules and come together over food, drinks, and great company.

A definite highlight of the evenings was the lively lohei sessions. As we tossed the yusheng, we shared collective wishes for prosperity, good health, and continued success in the year ahead.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this joyous occasion. May the year of the horse bring meaningful collaborations and shared successes for all.

We were honoured to have Dr Choo Bok Ai (Radiation Oncologist) invited by Siemens Healthineers to speak at their ASEAN employee townhall.

At the session, Dr Choo shared his clinical experience using the Varian TrueBeam for patient treatments over at our one-stop integrated centre at Mt Alvernia. He highlighted how advanced technology and precision work hand in hand to deliver safer, more effective cancer care.

Thank you to Siemens Healthineers for the opportunity to share our insights as we continue working together to advance cancer care and improve patient outcomes across the region.

This Valentine's Day, be inspired by Norman and Debbie's story of love and unwavering support. 💕

Going through cancer is never easy. The treatments, uncertainties and emotional toll — no one should have to face it alone. That's why having a strong support system is so important.

Their journey is a powerful reminder that love, strength and support can make even the toughest days a little easier.

For Dr Karmen Wong and our team at Icon Cancer Centre Gleneagles, we feel privileged to be able to be part of this journey with them.

Before you head out this weekend for Lunar New Year celebrations, remember that excessive alcohol can take a toll on your health. While toasts and celebrations are part of the fun, it is important to know your limit.

Sip mindfully and enjoy the celebrations responsibly. 🍻

As part of our nursing training and development programme, our nurses from Singapore recently attended the Asia-Pacific Breast Cancer Summit (APBCS) in Penang, Malaysia alongside Dr Tan Yew Oo, Prof Kong Hwai Loong and Dr Shang Yeap.

Our nurses connected with nurses from across the globe, shared best practices, and gained insights into breast cancer treatments, patient-centred, supportive and psychosocial care. The summit also highlighted strategies to build self efficacy and resilience among oncology nurses.

Our team from Singapore also took the opportunity to visit and bond with our colleagues from Malaysia at Island Hospital Penang.

At Icon, we are committed to developing exceptional oncology nurses and future leaders. We actively support their growth both clinically and professionally through a combination of internal and external upskilling opportunities. Our nurses regularly attend and participate in conferences, ensuring they remain at the forefront of oncology practice. This focus on development also includes building leadership capability through internal programs and initiatives, supporting career progression into management and leadership roles.

If you keen to join an organisation that trains and develops their team, email your resume to hrsupport.sg@icon.team.

It was our pleasure to welcome over 20 senior leaders from Shanxi Hospital to our Integrated Centre at Mount Alvernia Hospital.

During their visit, the delegation toured our facilities and gained a deeper understanding on how our multidisciplinary teams work together to deliver high quality, patient-centred care.

The visit provided a valuable platform for open dialogue and mutual learning, with meaningful exchanges on healthcare operations in both Singapore and China. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn from one another, and build stronger professional relationships.
