The YSAA Board has decided to postpone the Australian National competition in November (which reverted to online from on-site in Canberra).

The reason is due to our desire to hold the annual nationals in person at a time feasible and realistic to do so. Sadly the COVID restrictions and border closures have left many members unable to practice in a studio and struggling to maintain their practice at home. Whilst we hoped an online competition could bridge the gap and bring us all together, we are feeling optimistic with our idea to hold the Australian Nationals in April 2022 when travel restrictions ease and the YSAA can host a training workshop around the National competition with Master Dev Kapil and Amrei Marden leading the action. We can then come together as our beloved yoga group and enjoy each other’s energy and teachings and inspiration.

In the meantime, the YSAA plans to host online training sessions and classes led by our most inspirational member teachers. Please keep an eye out on our social media pages for upcoming events.

This is your chance to ask our Judges all of your competition questions about:

• why you’re getting the marks you get for your postures in a competition
• Correct ex*****on tips for your favourite postures
• Minimum expression required for maximum points
• When is holding the posture actually still?
• What’s a ‘second chance’ and what’s a wobble??
• What do the judges really look for in a routine?

Please submit the posture you would like to discuss via email ay members@ysaa.org.au or direct message us here so the Judges can prepare to answer you with examples 😀
