The National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) is a national specialist centre for cancer under the National University Health System (NUHS). It is the only comprehensive public cancer centre in Singapore treating both paediatric and adult cancers in one facility. Located at the National University Hospital (NUH), we offer a broad spectrum of cancer care with expertise in prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care. Besides improving the quality of care to cancer patients, the NCIS also trains and nurtures the next generation of healthcare professionals in this field of medicine. Working closely with scientists to advance cancer medicine, the NCIS hopes to translate basic research discoveries in the laboratory to applied research for clinical trials and eventually to better treatments. Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Brain Tumour Awareness Campaign Public Symposium 2025!

From insightful talks on pathology, clinical trials and life after a brain tumour, to heartfelt patient and caregiver stories, it was a morning filled with learning, hope and community.

𝗔 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀?

A randomised clinical trial led by Prof Lee Soo Chin, Senior Consultant, NCIS, and her team examined more than 9,000 women in Singapore.

The study found that a simple mailed reminder was just as effective as more complex behavioural interventions in increasing screening uptake.
