Characterised by thick, hardened scaly patches, psoriasis is the result of an overactive immune system that causes skin inflammation and accelerated skin cell growth.
This abnormal rapid growth of skin cells may be caused by genetic factors or external triggers such as stress, injury and climate changes, causing skin cells to pile up on the skin surface, leading to the onset of psoriasis symptoms.
Should you experience symptoms of psoriasis, seek dermatological advice from ๐๐ฟ ๐ช๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐-๐ก๐ถ, the former Chief of Psoriasis Unit at the National Skin Centre. ๐๐ฒ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ฏ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ต
