✨ “Not betting for a boy. This baby is a gift — and she’s a girl.”

Today in the lift, my neighbour auntie asked me, “Two girls already? Betting for a boy this time?”

I laughed and said, “No lah, this baby is a gift — and she’s a girl.”

Years ago, I cried when people commented on my baby’s gender. My husband had to comfort me by singing:
“我爱你不是爱给别人看；我生你也不是生给别人看。”
I love you not for others to see; I gave birth to you not for others to see.

Now, with wisdom and time, I know deeply: every child is a blessing, no matter boy or girl.

Every child is a gift. 🌸

In TCM, pulse-taking during early pregnancy has traditionally been used to guess whether it’s a boy or girl.

At Flower Moon, my team of physicians took my own pregnancy as a rare opportunity to practise this skill — not for patients, but to train their fingers’ sensitivity.

It became a fun little “competition” among us, and guess what? Phy. Thum “won”! 🎉

We all know every child is a gift, but this was such a joyful way to blend tradition, learning, and laughter together. 💖

✨ A Special Announcement from Flower Moon Shana ✨

Over the years, I have always been extremely cautious when treating women during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester.

At times, I even felt “unsafe” when prescribing treatments, because I carried such a deep responsibility for both mother and baby. That is why Flower Moon has always been run with a simple principle: 不自用，不介绍 — if it’s not something I trust or use for myself, I will never recommend it to my patients.

At 45 years old, I received the most unexpected and precious God’s gift — I am expecting my 3rd baby girl. 👧 I chose to wait until the amniocentesis results came back normal before sharing this news, due to an age related high-risk pregnancy.

Today, with a heart full of gratitude, I can finally announce this touching blessing together with all of you.

This pregnancy has been supported by the same methods I have prescribed to my patients in their first trimesters.

Experiencing this myself has given me a deeper confidence that the care we provide at Flower Moon is safe, nurturing, and effective. I see this baby as Heaven’s way of reassuring me and rewarding me for this journey. 🌸

Thank you all for walking alongside me and Flower Moon. May this joy also bring hope to every woman on her own path.
