Care for the Elderly Foundation Singapore Care for the Elderly Foundation (Singapore)

The Foundation had its beginnings as an informal volunteer group in 1992 which provided transport and escort services to elderly and immobile patients who needed to attend specialist outpatient clinics in hospitals. Seeing the need for a more comprehensive approach to helping the frail elderly, the Foundation was formally set up in 1995 and registered as a charity in 1996.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

After more than three decades of dedicated service, Venerable Shi Wei Zhi will be relinquishing his role as Honorary Executive Director with effect from 1 April 2026.

Venerable Wei Zhi has served CEF since its inception in 1992, holding various roles working his way up from the position of Administrator to his current position. Under his sterling stewardship and visionary leadership, CEF evolved as one of the leading providers of Home Medical and Nursing Care services, in a healthcare landscape which focused on acute patient care to a full continuum of care, including Home Personal Care, End‑of‑Life Care, and Gerontological Social Work.

His unwavering commitment, guidance, and compassion have been instrumental in shaping the Foundation’s mission and strengthening its impact on the lives of seniors and their families.

On behalf of the Board and Management, I wish to extend our deepest gratitude for his invaluable contributions and legacy of service to serving seniors and their families. We are pleased to share that Venerable Wei Zhi will continue to serve on the Board after the leadership transition.

Following this transition, Bryan Poh will take on the leadership of CEF.
Bryan brings with him deep institutional knowledge and a long‑standing commitment to CEF. He has been a volunteer with the Foundation since 1997, served as a Board member since 2007, and joined CEF’s management in 2015 as Programme Manager. His contributions up the ladder, was under the close mentorship of Venerable Wei Zhi and hence, his appointment to helm CEF reflects strong continuity of leadership and a deep alignment with the Foundation’s values and mission.

Bryan is an alumnus of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), holding a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master’s in Social Work, and a Graduate Diploma in Gerontology.

This leadership transition reflects CEF’s ongoing commitment to good governance, continuity, and organisational sustainability. I look forward to your continued support for Bryan just as you have over the years, boosted the team and CEF led by Ven Wei Zhi.

We thank our partners, donors, volunteers, and supporters for your continued trust and support, and we look forward to working together as we continue to care for our seniors with compassion, dignity, and excellence.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Ong Seh Hong, PBM
Board President

A group of Secondary 1 students from Tanjong Katong Girls' School made a learning journey to CEF, as part of their community trail to explore businesses and professionals within the neighbourhood.

Our young visitors learnt more about the history of CEF and gained an insight into the role and responsibilities of our Medical Social Worker (MSW), Isaiah. All the best to the students for their community project. We certainly hope we have inspired them.

✨ What an incredible night of generosity and community! ✨

CEF is truly uplifted by the success of the charity dinner organised by Hi Tek Construction Pte Ltd and Houston Construction Pte Ltd on 25 February 2026.

Thanks to their generosity, more than $30,000 was raised to support our mission of caring for seniors and patients in their homes.

We are deeply grateful for this inaugural partnership — The initiative brings us closer to delivering even more essential home care services to those who need it most. 💛

Together, we make ageing at home with dignity possible. 🙌

CEF had our 2nd round of the Community Nursing Post at Singapore Buddhist Lodge, where we reached out to a new group of participants as well as familiar faces.

It was heartening to know that some participants returned to monitor their progress from the assessment done last month, while a few requested to do blood glucose test for early detection on diabetes.

We look forward to connecting with more participants during our future sessions!

They also get to learn about practical lifestyle tips from our Senior Staff Nurses, which are tailored to their individual health and emotional needs.

We appreciate the compassionate support from The Singapore Buddhist Lodge and look forward to the continual partnership to benefit more people in the community.

Adults with intellectual disabilities require specialized care and concern to ensure their well-being and independence. Caregivers play a crucial role in supporting and understanding these individuals.

As part of a collaborative initiative to extend kindness to adults with Intellectual Disabilities and their caregivers, Care for the Elderly Foundation is grateful to TPC Group (Tsao Pao Chee Group) for generously sponsoring the goodie bags with daily necessities for our beneficiaries.

Thank you to our Medical Social Work team for visiting our beneficiaries and their families to distribute the goodie bags at the start of new year.
