🥳 Thrilled to share that Accessible Sights, a pilot programme launched in Enabling Village, has been awarded the SG Mark for Experience Design!

🤝 Accessible Sights is a collaboration with Trigger Design & Beyond Vision Projects / Beyond Vision International (BVI), supported by Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped and Guide Dogs Singapore Ltd.

💙 Using tactile tools and audio cues, visually impaired individuals guided sighted guests on multisensory tours at Enabling Village, fostering empathy and inclusion. The project redefined roles, offered employment, and set a model for inclusive tourism – now expanded to Gardens by the Bay.

🔑 Having the right training and employment opportunities are key to opening new doors for the disability community! Through partnerships with Autism Resource Centre Singapore / Pathlight School, Accessible Singapore and more, we continue to shape the education and training landscape for persons with disabilities beyond the age of 18, while also enhancing the skills of their caregivers, employers and training providers through the Enabling Academy. 🥰

🌟Since 2015, Mount Alvernia Hospital has been a pioneer tenant at Enabling Village, bringing inclusive healthcare right into the community. 💙

See these thoughtfully designed features in action:
🚪 Sliding doors & wide entrances
🪑 Low registration counters
🦷 A wheelchair tilter for dental care
🌿 A quiet space for persons with disabilities and caregivers

⏳ Ample time is given for appointments so patients with disabilities never feel rushed, receiving care that is both respectful and dignified, and at affordable prices: $15 for medical consults (including medication) and $30 for dental visits (scaling, fillings, extractions).

Being at Enabling Village gives them the opportunity to pilot inclusive concepts and make healthcare accessible for all.
