On Saturday, 12 July 2025, our Befriender Sub-Committee, together with EXCO members and volunteers, enjoyed a meaningful evening outing with our members at Chinese Garden.

The outing began at the iconic Cloud Pagoda, where everyone took photos and admired the beautiful structure up close. Members had a lovely time wheeling and strolling around, soaking in the peaceful surroundings.

We then explored the Tea Pavilion and Bonsai Garden. Some enjoyed the quiet view of the lotus pond at the pavilion, while others appreciated the delicate beauty of miniature trees at the Bonsai Garden. The next stop was the Bamboo Grove and Waterfall, a favourite among many. The calm sound of flowing water and lush greenery made it a peaceful spot for group photos and quiet appreciation.

As the sun set, we made our way to the Grand Arch and crossed the White Rainbow Bridge to Lakeside Garden, where a delicious dinner awaited us at Fusion Spoon Restaurant. Over dinner, everyone bonded through shared laughter, warm conversations, and genuine companionship.

This outing wasn’t just a walk in the park—it was a celebration of friendship, inclusion, and the simple joy of being together.

Thank You NYGH Students for Spending Time with Our Clients!

We were delighted to welcome students from Nanyang Girls' High School 南洋女中 (NYGH) to HWA over four sessions held across April and May 2025. During their visits, the students interacted warmly with our clients, bringing energy and enthusiasm.

Beyond meaningful conversations, the students also took the lead in organising and facilitating engaging activities that brought smiles and laughter to our clients. From games and performances to hands-on activities, their thoughtful planning and inclusive approach made each session enjoyable for all.

We appreciate the students’ efforts and their contribution in creating a meaningful and memorable experience for our clients!

HWA was pleased to welcome the Gyeongsangbuk-do Association for the Disabled in Korea for a meaningful exchange recently.

The visit began with a welcome introduction and screening of HWA’s corporate video, followed by a lively Q&A session, where we shared more about our work and services supporting persons with disabilities and seniors in Singapore.

Guests were then introduced to HWA’s specialised transport services, with a demonstration of our wheelchair-accessible vehicles and how they are designed to provide safe, convenient travel for our clients. The visit concluded with a guided tour of our Rehab Centre, where the group had the opportunity to observe our facilities and learn more about our rehabilitation programmes.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect and engage with fellow advocates for disability inclusion and care!

Together, We Keep Moving Forward!

Our 41st Wheel, Walk or Jog & Family Carnival 2025 rolled out with joy and energy last Saturday, on 17 May! The event brought together beneficiaries, families, volunteers, partners and supporters for a day of community, celebration, and movement!

We were honoured to have Mr. Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Social and Family Development, grace the event as our Guest of Honour once again. Thank you, Sir for your encouraging presence and support!

From performances by Sachin & Farisha, Kumarino, SIT Silat, and our very own HWA Drumming Group, to the bustling carnival and lucky draw for HWA members, the day was alive with beautiful happenings of joy.

A heartfelt thank you also goes out to our steadfast partners, corporate and student volunteers, talented performers, and generous donors. Your continued dedication and support make a meaningful difference in the lives of our beneficiaries.

To every participant who joined us—we are grateful for your enthusiasm and spirit. You brought life and laughter to the occasion, and we hope you have enjoyed yourself!

Lastly, our appreciation goes to HWA's working team—staff across departments, from the event organising team to the frontline service staff, backend workers, logistics crew, and all who quietly worked behind the scenes. Your collective effort made this event possible.

Thank you everyone!

Through it all, Francesca drew strength from resilience, hope, and the quiet encouragement of those around her. In this video, Francesca offers a glimpse into her story—how she discovered her condition and how she continues to live with strength, grace, and purpose.

On her journey of adapting to life with her condition, Francesca has been receiving on-going regular physiotherapy at HWA’s Rehab Centre at Jurong Point, where the consistent care and support from our physiotherapists have helped her maintain her physical condition and overall well-being.
