🌏 Strengthening Partnerships Across Southeast Asia
📅 CCC Fall Institute | October 6–10, 2025

The CCC Fall Institute successfully wrapped up a dynamic 5-day workshop focused on Advancing Implementation Science Capacity Building through the CCC (Cutting-edge, Customized, and Comprehensive) HIV program for Vietnam and Thailand.

🔍 Highlight: October 7 (Day 02)

Participants engaged in insightful sessions on Implementation Science and Rapid Qualitative Analysis, led by the Global Health Research Center. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaisiri Angkurawaranon, Head of the Global Health Research Center and Assistant Dean for Research, Innovation, and International Relations, facilitated a special session sharing Thailand’s planned fellowship initiatives and research proposals.
👥 The event welcomed around 40–50 participants, including our Global Health Researchers, international researchers and faculty from across the region.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this impactful gathering. Together, we’ve strengthened regional collaboration and advanced the future of global health research.

🌍 On 23–24 September 2025, the Global Health Research Team had the honor of participating in the VERDI General Assembly Meeting held in Rome, Italy 🇮🇹.
The VERDI project (Grant Agreement No. 101045989), funded by the European Union, brings together a consortium of 30 partners from across Europe, the USA, South Africa, and Asia. This international gathering provided a valuable opportunity to review the progress of ongoing project activities, exchange ideas and expertise, and collaboratively plan the next steps forward.
We’re proud to share that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaisiri Angkurawaranon, Head of the Global Health Research Center and Assistant Dean for Research, Innovation, and International Relations, presented our initiative titled “From Research (TRE) to Development: A Learner Health System Approach.”
Joining the meeting as part of the Thai delegation were:
- Ajarn Auttakiat Karnjanapiboonwong, Director of Innovation and Research, Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health
- Dr. Thanaphon Yisakhun, Field Epidemiology Training Programmer, Division of Epidemiology, Ministry of Public Health

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, is organizing the 27th CMCC (Chiang Mai Cardiology Conference) under the theme "Practical Cardiology for Real-World Challenges", to be held from September 11–14, 2025, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai.

At this event, Associate Professor Dr. Chaisiri Angkurawaranon, Head of the Global Health Research Center and Assistant Dean for Research, Innovation, and International Relations, was also be a guest speaker presenting on the topic "Simple Hypertension Treatment Protocol in In- and Out-Patient Practice."

Global Health Master Class: Advancing the Global Health Perspective

As part of the 10-day intensive program (14–22 July), this master class brought together 30 participants for an engaging session led by Assoc. Prof. Chaisiri Angkurawaranon, Assoc. Prof. Petch Rawdaree, and Prof. Rangsan Rerknimit. The session focused on implementation science and frameworks for non-communicable diseases, covering:
🔹 Preventive and behavioral interventions (e.g. endocrine-related disorders)
🔹 Precision screening and morbidity forecasting
🔹 Integrated chronic disease management and referral systems
🔹 Rehabilitation, palliative, and end-of-life care

This program is designed to empower emerging global health leaders to address borderless health challenges with clarity and confidence. It fosters awareness and deepens understanding of transnational health issues, while promoting forward-thinking approaches to mitigate their impact in ways that are contextually relevant to our rapidly evolving world. Through collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based practice, participants will be equipped to drive comprehensive and sustainable solutions tailored to diverse global settings.

สำนักงานบริหารงานวิจัย (สบว.) มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ กำหนดจัดโครงการประชุมวิชาการ CMU Annual Research Summit ประจำปี 2568 ระหว่างวันที่ 18–19 สิงหาคม 2568 ณ โรงแรม Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมบรรยากาศแห่งการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ด้านการวิจัยและพัฒนา ตลอดจนเชื่อมโยงเครือข่ายนักวิจัยตามกลุ่มความเชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะด้านจำนวน 10 กลุ่ม (Consortiums) เพื่อมุ่งสู่การพัฒนางานวิจัยและนวัตกรรมที่มีประสิทธิภาพและยั่งยืน
ภายในงานประกอบด้วยกิจกรรมหลากหลาย อาทิ ปาฐกถาและการบรรยายพิเศษจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิระดับประเทศ เช่น สำนักงานการวิจัยแห่งชาติ (วช.) สำนักงานส่งเสริมวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม (สกสว.) และหน่วยบริหารและจัดการทุนด้านการเพิ่มความสามารถในการแข่งขันของประเทศ (บพค.) รวมถึงการนำเสนอผลงานวิจัยชั้นแนวหน้าในรูปแบบ Oral Presentation และ Poster Presentation รวมทั้งสิ้น 11 หัวข้อย่อยที่สอดคล้องกับกลุ่ม Consortiums ของมหาวิทยาลัย

Chiang Mai University’s Research Administration Office is set to host the CMU Annual Research Summit 2025 on August 18–19, 2025, at the Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel. The summit aims to foster a vibrant atmosphere for knowledge exchange in research and development, while strengthening collaboration among researchers across 10 specialized consortiums, with the goal of advancing impactful and sustainable research and innovation.
The event will feature a variety of activities, including keynote speeches and special lectures by nationally renowned experts from organizations such as the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the Office of the Science Promotion Board (TSRI), and the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC). Cutting-edge research will be showcased through oral presentations and poster presentations across 11 thematic sessions, aligned with the university’s 10 consortiums.
One of the summit’s highlights is the session on Health and Well-being, Ageing Society, and Pandemics, scheduled for August 19 from 14:45 to 15:00 in the Voyage Room, 3rd Floor. This session will feature Oral Presentation S7.P52, titled “The development of a learning health system and active patient link tool for the management of hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and chronic kidney disease in primary care in Thailand: A stratified cluster randomized study protocol.” The project was led by Assoc. Prof. Chaisiri Angkurawaranon, and the presentation was delivered by Dr. Piyachon Aramrat.
