What is Adenomyosis?

A distinct disease separate from Endometriosis where endometrial like tissue grows from within the uterus into the uterine wall.

This causes a lot of problems, specifically pain, a heavy feeling, and often heavy, prolonged menstruation.

Pleaaase don't p*e just in case!

I know, it's so tempting especially when we are travelling or going out.

But the bladder is a trainable organ! By p*eing when you don't actually need to, you are telling that organ that it needs to inform you before you actually need it to.

Which means you end up having even more urgency.. which we don't want.

Bladder health really makes a difference! You can help yourself by slowing down, relaxing those pelvic musc

Why does sitting hurt? 🪑

It’s not always the chair.

Tight muscles around your pelvis, hips, and spine can create inflammation and tension that makes sitting uncomfortable.

Pain at your tailbone? Weak hamstrings? Lower back aching?

Your muscles might actually be the culprit, not just your posture.

And because it's , I just want to mention that lesions can create the cascade mentioned above, making pain while sitting a symptom of the disease.

Endometriosis is more than pelvic pain (as if that weren't enough!)

Some other symptoms you might feel:

🎗️ Bladder urgency
🎗️ Painful s*x
🎗️ Lower back pain
🎗️ Recurring UTI symptoms
🎗️ GI issues like IBS
🎗️ Heavy legs
🎗️ Fatigue
.. Among others.

The good news is a lot of these can be helped through strategies like movement (yoga therapy), pelvic floor work, massage and acupressure, and the inclusion of certain herbs and food types (Ayurveda). All of which are within my scope of practice.

Endometriosis is gaining in awareness, and that is a great thing!

It affects 1 in 10 people, and takes years to get diagnosed.

And once you finally do, there's no cure.

Awareness is finally starting to bring us:
- more diagnostic tools
- increasing research
- better clinical guidelines
- increased access to multidisciplinary care options, including pelvic therapy

And if you have Endo or think you do,

Working with your pelvis and gaining as much knowledge as you can about how your unique body works is such a power move. I hope my page is useful to you, and you're always welcome to reach out!

Peeing take you less than 10 seconds?

Maybe you didn't have to go that bad 🤷🏻‍♀️

This could be because you've trained your bladder to tell you to go too soon, or...

Maybe your pelvic floor is just too tight, sending mixed signals to your brain, and not allowing for your bladder to expand comfortably.

We can do something about this!

Movement to targeted areas can encourage relaxation, therefore increasing expansion and comfort in your bladder, and elsewhere in your pelvis.

Deeper diaphragmatic breathing, NOT KEGELS, mobilizes the finer muscles surrounding the pelvic floor, allowing your bladder to become fully full.
