As my education in gongs continues I was surprised to learn how much the mallet matters in gongs. Coming from a singing bowl background, the mallet is not a deal breaker and the mallets you get that come with the bowl when you buy them are decent. But not so with gongs. The mallets really make a difference.

I was looking for an affordable mallet after seeing how much the European brand name mallets cost and also the speciality mallet makers. I had the OEM mallets that came with the gong when I bought them but they somehow didn't sound great. I had bought an IRIN large fleece mallet (Chinese brand) but it also was just decent.

So these .sounds  mallets were the most affordable on ebay, new even when compared to second hand mallets from the name brands. I bought one to test first and was amazed at the sounds. Right away I went to get a 2nd one!

These mallets produced a deeper more resonant sound than my OEM China mallets with greater ease and bounce better than the IRIN fleece mallet.

These are my go to mallets now and I think I will be using them for a long time.

I was recently gifted a candle from , a moon prototype. It was created with the intention of assisting release of things within oneself that no longer serve and to burn it with the full moon to enhance the effect.

I filmed with the bright new moon in the background. Swipe right to get a clearer view of the candle.
As usual, it smells great, a fresh scent that reminds me of clean clothes, airy breeze laundry drying in a meadow of fresh flowers that are at once soothing and also reviving.

Sound therapy is the use of specific instruments that produce sounds meant to help in relaxation, stress relief, meditation or healing.
Singing bowls (both metal and crystal), crystal pyramids and gongs are some of the tools used.

To benefit, all one has to do is be receptive and open to the sound. When the sound is focused on the effect is usually greater.

Crystal Triangles / Pyramids are beautiful sound therapy instruments with a long sustain and tones falling into the mid or high range.

The bigger the triangle the lower the tone. I find they can be useful for helping eliminate excessive thinking or overactive minds due to the high pitch they emit which seems to have like a blanking out effect on our brains, kind of similar to when we hear any high pitch tone like a tyre screech, or rubber screech or even a scream. Automatically our brain blanks out its thought for that split second it hears that high pitch noise, probably due to danger signaling as part of the brain's makeup.
