The phone call comes when you least expect it.⁣

Your loved one, the person you worried about, fought for, and finally helped get into treatment, is asking to come home. Now.⁣

Maybe they're crying. Maybe they're angry. Maybe they're promising everything will be different this time.⁣

And you're caught in the middle. You want to believe them. You want to end their suffering. But something feels off.⁣

If you've ever been in this moment, you're not alone.⁣

Treatment centres see this pattern constantly. The urge to leave often peaks at specific times: the first few days (panic), around week two (feeling "cured"), and just before the 30-day mark (when the real emotional work begins).⁣

Our monthly Round Table Lunch brought our client-facing teams and management together over good food and meaningful conversation 🍽️⁣

This time, Reeya Chaicharas (Head of Marketing) facilitated a discussion on balancing customer focus with company focus, reflecting on feedback we receive from clients, and exploring what our team would change if given the opportunity.⁣

At The Dawn, we believe our people's voices matter. Without their honesty, insight, and dedication, we couldn't deliver the care our clients deserve.⁣

Listening to our team is how we grow together. 💙⁣

Being cut off by your child can feel sudden, confusing, and deeply hurtful - and many parents suffer in silence.⁣

Our Clinical Director, 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬, recently contributed her expert insight to MadeForMums, exploring what it’s like when an adult child “freezes you out,” why it happens, and why this kind of loss deserves understanding and compassion.⁣

Exciting news from The Dawn 🙏⁣

Our team was invited to present at the Public Health Department Chiang Mai for visiting officials from Pattani Province and we were the only private rehabilitation centre asked to represent Chiang Mai's private rehab sector.⁣

The Pattani team shared that our approach offered fresh perspectives they're looking to adapt within their own public health services. Moments like these remind us why collaboration between private and public sectors matters.⁣

Thank you to the Chiang Mai Public Health Department for this opportunity.⁣

Mark tried 90 twelve-step meetings before coming to The Dawn. He was still trapped by sedatives, alcohol, fear, and trauma he couldn't escape.⁣

Then something shifted. He found a therapist who truly understood him. He faced his fears. He got his life back.⁣

Watch Mark's story. It might be the sign you've been waiting for. ⁣👇

This year, we came together in the truest sense of community 💚

Our team and clients raised funds for Baan Piyawat Orphanage, supporting children who need it most. And we celebrated with a beautiful Christmas dinner, sharing gratitude, laughter, and hope for the year ahead.

You loved your parent. But something always felt… off.

Maybe you were their confidant. Their emotional support. The one they leaned on when they should have turned to another adult.

As a child, it might have felt special. As an adult, it can feel confusing...even guilt-inducing...to question it.

If this resonates, you're not alone. And there's a name for what you experienced.

💙 This article explores the signs, the lasting impact, and most importantly - how healing is possible.

Our Story

Located in Thailand’s northern capital, Chiang Mai, The Dawn is a rising star on the Asian horizon in effective inpatient mental health and addiction treatment. Among Asia’s plethora of rehabs we are the only treatment centre to offer a mental health programme distinct from our addiction programme – and have helped over 300 individuals from around the world, suffering from either or, and dual diagnosis to find recovery at our boutique riverfront property.

Licensed by the Thai Ministry Of Health, our Western-trained clinical team of psychologists and psychotherapists work under the guidance of renowned English addiction expert and author David Smallwood. Our programmes combine advanced Western psychotherapies augmented with ancient Thai wellness practices, physical fitness and 24/7 medical care.

We cap client numbers at 25 at our peaceful and very private riverfront centre to ensure that care is personalised and clients feel part of The Dawn family during their stay with us.
