The Chiang Mai Tourism Council and VisitChiangMai SE (Social Enterprise) would like to represent the people of Chiang Mai Province in expressing our deepest condolences for the loss of lives and property caused by the unrest in the Thai-Cambodian border area. We extend our heartfelt support to all those affected and sincerely hope that the situation will resolve and return to peace soon.
We would like to clarify that the incident in the Thai-Cambodian border area is located almost 1,000 kilometers away from Chiang Mai Province.
This incident has no impact on the safety or the tourism atmosphere in Chiang Mai Province, and we are confident that it will not affect Chiang Mai in any way. Chiang Mai continues to operate tourism activities as usual. Tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, and various shops remain fully open, with high-level security measures in place through the cooperation of government agencies, the private sector, and security units to closely look after both Thai and international tourists.
Tourists can travel and relax in Chiang Mai with confidence.
