As yoga teachers, there can be moments of doubt.
When class sizes fluctuate. When only one person shows up.When we quietly wonder, âAm I doing something wrong?â
But tonight reminded me of something important.
The size of the class does not define the impact of the work.
If one person walks into that room and leaves feeling lighter, calmer, or changed in some way⊠then the purpose has already been fulfilled. Weâre not here to fill rooms. Weâre here to spark change.
And sometimes weâre not the ones who change the world directly⊠sometimes we simply spark the mind or heart that will.
My classes arenât always the âtypicalâ yoga experience. I weave in breathwork, meditation, and energy awareness, with less focus on asana because thatâs what aligns with my spirit and the way I move through life. The people who are meant for that always seem to find their way there.
Tonight only one woman came to class.
At the end she told me the session completely changed her day⊠that she felt relaxed, grounded, and ready to rest in a way she hadnât before she arrived.
And in that moment I realized something.
She thought I changed her life tonight⊠but she changed mine too. She reminded me why I walk this path in the first place.
The real gift isnât a packed room. The real gift is the connection. The real gift is witnessing someone leave better than when they arrived.
For that, Iâm deeply grateful. đ€
