It was a great honor to meet PA State Rep. Milou Mackenzie to discuss the Children's Vision Bill and the service we provide through Pennsylvania Optometric Association.

Optometric Association

Dr. Tara Kayes, O.D. and Dr. Roopal Rammohan, O.D, two local optometrists visited me in my district office to discuss pending legislation that is being considered in Harrisburg. I truly appreciate these two amazing professional women and all of the other optometrists across Pennsylvania who are providing good visual care to so many people in our communities.

Myself, being the child of an optometrist who worked for many years helping children with dyslexia and other visual challenges, I am keenly aware of how important proper eye exams are for school age children. The correct pair of eyeglasses can often be the determining factor between success or failure when it comes to a child who is learning to read.

There is renewed awareness of this in Harrisburg, due to the continuing concern over the low reading scores in so many of our public schools.
