Five years ago this month, everything shut down.
And at the same time, everything in me was already shutting down.

I was working for a school-based nonprofit, juggling 4 schools, 3 classrooms, and 30 clients a week. Over 40 hours, under-supported, and deep in burnout. I was surviving off “as needed” ADHD meds and pure chaos.

Fast forward 5 years:
✅ Full-fee private practice
✅ EMDR Certified Therapist, Consultant, and Trainer
✅ 20-hour workweek
✅ Daily ADHD meds
✅ A work-life balance that lets me be home with our toddler

You don’t have to stay stuck in what’s breaking you.
You can rebuild.
You can heal.
You can thrive.

Feeling Stuck in EMDR? Let’s Talk About Under-Accessing. 🧠✨

Ever had a client who struggles to connect with a traumatic memory during EMDR? They might be under-accessing—when emotions, body sensations, or key details feel “blocked” in processing. 🚧

🔹 Why does this happen?
✔️ Dissociation or numbing as a defense mechanism
✔️ Over-intellectualizing instead of feeling
✔️ Cognitive avoidance of distressing memories
✔️ Medication or nervous system shutdown

💡 What helps? Try somatic interventions, titration, or cognitive interweaves to deepen emotional access and unlock healing.

🧠 Struggling to explain EMDR to clients? Save this!

Ever had a client ask, “What is EMDR and how does it work?” 🤔 Here’s a simple, client-friendly way to break it down!

🔹 EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the brain unstick painful memories so they don’t feel overwhelming anymore.
🔹 It’s different from talk therapy—we’re not just talking about trauma, we’re helping the brain reprocess it so it stops feeling like it’s happening in the present.
🔹 Using bilateral stimulation (BLS) (eye movements, tapping, or sounds), we help the brain finish what it naturally wanted to do: heal.

Clients often say EMDR feels like fast-forwarding through a memory or like they finally let go of something heavy. 💭✨

💭 Ever been told you were ‘too sensitive’ as a kid? Now, as an adult, do you feel like your emotions are a burden? You’re not alone. 🖤

When your feelings were dismissed in childhood, you learned to silence yourself—to shrink, to overthink, to apologize for your emotions. But here’s the truth: your emotions were never the problem. The lack of emotional safety was.

The good news? Healing is possible. Bottom-up therapy, like EMDR and somatic work, helps you release stored trauma, rebuild self-trust, and reconnect with your inner child in a way that feels safe.

✨ 3 Things You Need to Say PEACE OUT ✌️ to if You Want to Thrive with ADHD & Rejection Sensitivity ✨

1️⃣ 🚫 Overanalyzing Every Interaction
Not every “K.” text means someone is mad. Not every delayed response means you upset them. Your brain may be screaming rejection, but most of the time? It’s just life.

2️⃣ 🚫 Trying to “Earn” Rest
You don’t have to finish the list, respond to every message, or prove your worth before you rest. Your brain runs on dopamine, not guilt. Recharge first—focus will follow.

3️⃣ 🚫 Holding Yourself to an Impossible Standard
Perfectionism is just fear in disguise. You don’t need to be the best therapist, the most productive, or the perfect friend to be enough. You’re already enough.

✨ Let’s release the guilt, the overthinking, and the constant fear of “not doing enough.” Save this as a reminder & drop a ‘WAITLIST’ if you’re ready to let go.

🚨 Read This if You’re a High-Achieving Professional Who Feels Like They’re Drowning 🚨

You’re exhausted, constantly behind, and wondering if you’ll ever feel on top of things. (Spoiler: That to-do list? It’ll never be done. Rest anyway.)

💡 Here are 3 rules to live by if you’re navigating ADHD, burnout, and rejection sensitivity while trying to keep it together:

1️⃣ Your To-Do List Will Never Be Done—Rest Anyway.
Stop waiting until you’re “caught up” to take a break. It’s a moving target. Rest now.

2️⃣ Not Everyone’s Opinion Deserves Space in Your Head.
Overanalyzing won’t make you better at your job. Protect your energy. Not everyone’s judgment matters.

3️⃣ Good Enough is Actually Good Enough.
Perfectionism is just fear in disguise. You don’t need to do more to be enough.

⚡️ Save this as a reminder. Drop a 🔥 in the comments if one of these hit home. ⬇️

🎭 ADHD masking: The hidden struggle no one sees.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re acting ‘neurotypical’ just to fit in, you’re not alone. Masking can look like:
💡 Over-preparing to avoid mistakes.
💡 Suppressing your energy to seem ‘calm.’
💡 Mimicking others just to blend in.

But here’s the truth: Masking is exhausting. It can lead to burnout, anxiety, and feeling disconnected from your true self.

✨ Imagine what it would feel like to stop hiding and embrace the real YOU.

💬 Let’s talk about it: Do you find yourself masking? How has it impacted you?

💾 Save this as a reminder: You don’t have to mask to be enough.

✨ Self-Care for ADHD ✨

It doesn’t have to be fancy or Instagram-perfect—it’s all about giving your brain what it needs to function a little smoother.

✅ Set reminders so you don’t have to rely on memory.
✅ Keep snacks handy to prevent blood sugar crashes.
✅ Give yourself permission to rest before burnout hits.

💡 Pro tip: Small, simple changes = BIG impact when it comes to ADHD self-care.
