Stephen's Place

Stephen's Place Restoring lives by breaking the cycle of addiction. Sister Virginia worked in the S.C. Department of Corrections.

It was there that she met a young man named Stephen and helped him find an apartment so that he could be released from prison. After his release she served as his support person. Motivated by Stephen’s prompting to start a house to help others like him she set out to establish a halfway house in Bethlehem, PA. Sister Virginia chose to name this house Stephen’s Place for two reasons: Stephen had

planted the seed and St. Stephen was the first Christian in prison who was endowed with both courage and wisdom. Stephen’s Place offers an opportunity where these virtues can be lived freely and responsibly. It would be for all the “Stephens” who have dreams and a willingness to make them happen but lack the necessary resources to make them a reality.

Each month I get to hang out with the guys. We normally go out to dinner and afterwards participate in some activity.
Well this month, we went to dinner at Copperhead Grille Center Valley and Axe throwing at The Lehigh Valley Grand Prix. We had an "axe-cellent" time and it turned out that Dan was a cut above the rest.

The house was full of joy and laughter as we gathered our families together at our Annual Stephen's Place Christmas party. Santa and Mrs. Claus made a special appearance to give gifts to all the children.

My gratitude speaks when I care and when I share with others.....
I am grateful to these men who are on a positive journey towards a successful life. We enjoyed a Stephen's Place Thanksgiving Dinner together this evening, followed by a gratitude meeting.
We are missing our founder but know that she is watching over us and smiling because the tradition continues.
