Catching lung cancer early is key to successful treatment outcomes (aka: survival!)

Smoking history should be reviewed at least once a year and patients over 50 who have smoked in the last 15 years, including current smokers, may be eligible for screening.

Lung cancer screening saves lives, period. There will be no shame, blame, or pressuring to quit smoking involved. Just an order for a CT scan and information on how to make an appointment.

(But yes, you should consider quitting smoking 😉 and Dr. Lewis is here to help with that too when you're ready!)

If everyone eligible had a lung cancer screening, 62,000 lives would be saved over five years, a new study shows.

Interesting (and not surprising) correlation found between ultraprocessed foods and colon cancer in young women.

Remember to eat your veggies and that screening for colon cancer for those at average risk starts at age 45!

The study’s findings track with recent research on the alarming rise of the cancer in younger adults.

Unfortunately due the current government issues, video visits may no longer be covered, specifically for Medicare and Medicaid.
We will still be offering them, but patients need to check with their individual insurance plans to ensure the visit will be covered.

Sept. 30 deadline passed for benefit expanded during the pandemic
