The first step to becoming great at something, is sucking at it first.

Build a strong foundation and consistently nail the basics. It’s that simple.

To me, luck is just when preparation meets opportunity.

And that’s how I like to operate. I want to always be in a position where, if a big opportunity shows up, I can take full advantage of it.
The last thing I ever want is for something great to come along and I’m not ready for it.

That’s why I’m constantly pushing myself. I work hard because I never know when the next door is going to open. But when it does, I want to be ready to walk through it.

The downside to that mindset is it never really stops. Even when I do capitalize on an opportunity, I immediately start thinking, what’s next? How can I stay ready for the next one? It creates this constant cycle of preparation, which can be exhausting at times. And I don’t always take the time to slow down.

But honestly, I’d rather live in that cycle than have the regret of knowing I wasn’t prepared when it mattered. I’d rather be overprepared than miss the moment. Every time.

What’s the biggest mistake people make in the gym??

Prioritizing load over ex*****on

Exercise selection and efficiency: some of the most important variables when it comes to your training

The most common trait I see in people operating at an elite level? They don’t have an off switch.

They can’t slow down. And when they do, they actually get more stressed. More anxious. Because they’re not chasing the next level.
They lay awake at night thinking about how to improve. They set their next goal before they even hit the one they’re working on now.

That kind of mindset isn’t for everyone but it’s the reason they’re successful.

People with an off switch can’t operate at the same level as someone who never stops. Yes, there’s risk of burnout, fatigue, and overdoing it, but the reward is growth, success, and breakthroughs that others never reach.

It’s not a matter of if it pays off. It’s just a matter of when, if you’re willing to keep pushing.

Do you have an off switch? Or are you built to keep going?

Multi-tasking is not my forte

Science-based lifting is everywhere right now—and honestly, I think it’s a good thing.

A lot of the research absolutely applies to what we’re trying to achieve in the gym. And truthfully, bodybuilders have been ahead of the curve on most of it just through years of trial and error.

But here’s where I have a problem with the way it’s presented on social media today: there’s no intensity behind it.
You can have perfect form, perfect ex*****on, and quote all the studies you want—but if you’re not pushing hard enough to create a real stimulus, none of it matters.

At the end of the day, your body doesn’t adapt to good intentions or textbook setups. It adapts to stress. If you’re not training with real intensity, you’re leaving results on the table, science based or not.

So are you actually training hard enough to grow? Or just checking boxes?

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned this year is that closed doors aren’t necessarily a bad thing

Closed doors redirect you to better opportunities that you may not have seen otherwise

The next time you encounter a closed door, instead of getting frustrated, take a step back and look at what this might be trying to tell you or where it may be trying to redirect you
