Celebrating the spring season and the (hopefully!) steady trot of the fire horse year. The horses pictured were quite gentle and it felt possible to connect on a heart level. Steady, aligned, purposeful.

Not pictured is the wild horse in Greyson Highlands, VA that chased us while trail running around the solar new year. Big, bold, courageous, a little chaotic horse energy.

Both can be true about the horse energy year, and we get to choose how we want to show up. It's a time to embrace time with feet/body on the earth, nourishing the soil and our guts, and connect with water. Drink it. Be grateful for it. Use it as a cleansing practice.

Sharing the beauty of winter with you all. A collection of photos I've taken on runs this year so far. Ourside of the clinic, I've been focused on training for trail running. Weaving in and maximizing rest and recovery time, because it's oh so important.

The clinic will be closed 2/4 - 2/23.
Communications will be silent.

I'm excited to travel to Equador with and , and participate in 50k 🙌🏼🏔✨️ Supporting local conservation projects and the people who are making them happen. 🙏🏼✨️

a season of reflection and refinement.

sharing some of nature's beauty,
of which we all contain within.

inner sunsets, waterways, connecting paths, soft spots, stable parts, perspective and focus.

there's unique landscape within us all, and nobody knows the terrain better than you.

we can get to know our innerselves through being in nature. taking a pause. being in awe. feeling what each landscape feels like in relation to our own. noticing what we are curious about, what excites us, what calms us.

after all, you are nature. ✨️

I highly recommend getting yourself scheduled through February, as there will be a 3 week clinic closure in February.

Caseload remains closed, and will be reassessed at the spring equinox. ✨️

When we're moving quickly through life or moving quickly on the trails, it's easy to feel rushed when trying to be somewhere at a certain time.

That rushed feeling doesn't actually make us faster, and it's not the greatest feeling to feel, but we can change that!

I've found that naming the rushed feeling, and laughing about my forward posture is a great start.

Then it's all about bringing self back to presence, which makes time feel a bit more spacious.

I like to call myself back into the front of my spine, and take 4 deep breaths while I invite myself back in to the present moment.

Anchor in self before crusing. ⚓️ 🫶🏼

Self care on the move is just as crucial is self care during recovery between efforts. Every hour, especially during longer efforts, check in with yourself. Set a timer for every 30-60 minutes if you need to.

As a Chinese medicine nerd, my check-in follows the cycle of the elements. It helps me not to forget something. It helps me so much that I thought I would make some visuals to share.

WOOD: how are my joints? how is my pace?
FIRE: how is my spirit/mood? how is my heart rate?
EARTH: when's the last time I ate? Is it time for more fuel? do my leg muscles feel fueled?
METAL: how and where is my breath? do I have any hot spots or blisters?
WATER: how much water/ electrolytes/ salt have I consumed? when is the last time I peed? color?

Take care of yourselves and each other out there!

The symbolism of autumn and the associated element of metal encourages us to be clear about our integrity and values. When we reflect on how we are standing in the world, is it from a place mutual respect and regard? Or from a place of judgement and criticism? When we can find a healthy balance towards ourselves and others in this way, we are exemplifying healthy metal qualities. The metal element is also about boundaries, both recognizing what they are, and also the ability to create healthy boundaries. Our two metal channel organ systems- lung and large intestine- can give us a lens into how we are engaging with the energetics of the metal element in our systems. 🍂

In the energetic calendar, we have already crossed into winter, which is associated with the element of water, and organ channel systems of bladder and kidney. The symbolism here encourages us to ponder: Are we able to distill down our essence, our values, to nourish our inner resouces that will cultivate and fuel inspired action come spring? Are we able to say no to whatever we need to say no to? Can we surrender to unknown circumstances without fear, trusting we have everything we need within us to get through? ❄️

Well, y'all. I made it safely hOMe. A week later and I'm still speechless. The Alps are majestic, potent, and enough awe-inspiring beauty to crack one's heart and Spirit wiiiiiiidee open. 💜🏔💜

114.5 miles + 36,731 ft of elevation gain over 10 days, carrying my own gear, and only using my feet as transportation. THANK YOU, BODY!!!!🙏🏼✨️🙌🏼

But this trip wasn't/ isn't about physical stats. It was a pilgrimage to the mountains. In celebration of life, turning 40, renewal, reclaimation, and starting another chapter in life. 🫶🏼

The mountains are where I feel most connected to Spirit, to God, to myself, to what really matters most in life. 🏔✨️

This was an adventure I'll never forget, and I am grateful for the experience and amazing humans from around the world that I met along the way. 🙏🏼🏔✨️

I am extremely grateful for this flourishing community that creates opportunity for me to share my medicine with this world, and also for your patience and understanding when I need to disappear to the mountains to refill my heart cup. 🙏🏼💜🏔✨️
