Coco The Grief Support Pup

Coco The Grief Support Pup Hi, I’m Coco! I’m the newest (and furriest) member of the Connell Funeral Home team.

I was sent to bring warmth, comfort, and a few tail wags to those who are grieving a loss of a loved one. ❤️

🐾 Hi friends! It’s been a little while since I’ve popped in to say hello, but I’ve been busy doing what I love most — offering comfort, hugs, and quiet moments to those who need them. 💛

Grief can be heavy, but you don’t have to carry it alone. Sometimes a soft nudge, a wagging tail, or simply sitting together can make the day a little lighter. 🐶

I’m still here, ready to serve with love and a gentle paw. 💛

🐾💙 Happy National Dog Day! 💙🐾

Coco is spending her morning hard at work, bringing comfort and love to families who need it most. 🐶✨

Today we celebrate not just Coco, but all the loyal companions who remind us of unconditional love, healing, and the power of presence. Whether it’s a wagging tail, a gentle nudge, or simply sitting quietly by our side—dogs have a way of making life’s hardest days a little softer.

Give your pup an extra treat or belly rub today in honor of all the joy and comfort they bring. 🐕🦴❤️

Before & After: Coco Edition 🐾✂️

Coco got a little extra TLC this week with a fresh groom—and she’s feeling more like herself again. 💛

When we’re grieving, it can be easy to put self-care on the back burner. But even the smallest acts of care—a haircut, a walk, a nap, or just showing up for yourself—can help lighten the emotional weight we carry.

Grief doesn’t go away with a grooming, but sometimes a little care on the outside reminds us to keep tending to the inside, too.

Take a cue from Coco today: you’re worth the extra care. 💕

✨ A New Chapter in Local Care ✨

The Connell family is proud to announce the succession partnership with Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, with locations in Hellertown and Pennsburg. This partnership brings together two trusted, family-owned funeral homes.

Together, this new chapter will enhance the delivery of services throughout the greater Lehigh Valley and Upper Perkiomen Valley area, offering families an even greater level of care and convenience.

What you can expect:

💙 In Bethlehem – The Connell family and our dedicated staff will continue to serve you with the same compassion, integrity, and personal attention you’ve always known. We remain Connell Funeral Home and John Connell retains his position as Supervisor.

With the partnership, the Connell family now own and operate our own crematory. This creates seamless, dignified service and your loved one never leaves our care.

💜 In Hellertown-The Falk & Campagna families will continue serving families in Saucon Valley, ensuring the same compassionate care you’ve always known. This location’s new name is Connell Falk Funeral Homes and Crematory, recognizing the merging of two teams dedicated to serving our community.

We’re also thrilled to welcome Chadd Hamman as Supervisor. Chadd is returning to serve the community he’s called home for decades, having cared for families in Hellertown for over 20 years.

💛 In Pennsburg – The location will remain Falk Funeral Homes and Crematory, acknowledging Frank and Donna Falk’s unwavering commitment to the families of the Upper Perkiomen Valley. Frank and Donna will continue their daily service to the community alongside their trusted support staff, Nancy Wilhem, Jessica Rudloff, and our team members from Connell’s. Frank Falk will remain in a leadership position as Supervisor.

With our combined strengths, we are raising the bar for quality of service in the region with a renewed promise to serve our communities with compassion and excellence.

Our values haven’t changed — we are still, and always will be, families serving families.

More to come In how this benefits the families we serve.

Coco wasn’t feeling quite like herself the past two weeks, so we made another visit to the vet to make sure everything is okay. 🐾💛

It’s a gentle reminder: when we’re grieving, it’s easy to forget our own needs. Grief can be all-consuming—physically, mentally, and emotionally. But just like Coco, we sometimes need to pause, check in, and care for our health, even when it feels hard.

Whether it’s making that doctor’s appointment, getting extra rest, or simply drinking more water—your wellbeing matters, too. Healing starts with honoring what you need.

Even on the hottest days, Coco finds her way outside to take in the fresh air and stand quietly in the shade. ☀️🌳

Grief is a lot like summer heat—it can be heavy, exhausting, and linger longer than we expect. But just like Coco, we can still find small moments of peace. A quiet yard. A patch of grass. A breath under the trees.

You don’t have to feel “better” today. Just step into the moment you’re in—and know you’re not alone in it. 🐾💛

Coco Is sneaking In some Sunday relaxation before work ❤️
Sunday stillness has a way of bringing up what we’ve tucked away all week.
Grief can feel quieter on Sundays, but never absent. It sneaks in between sips of coffee, during slow walks, or while folding laundry in silence. That’s okay.
Coco reminds us that rest is healing. Whether it’s laying in the sun, pausing to breathe, or simply sitting with your feelings—your grief deserves space, too.
Be gentle with yourself today. You’re doing the best you can. 💛🐾

Wherever Jamie Connell goes, Coco is never far behind. 🐾
She’s his little shadow — always ready to comfort, support, and be part of every moment at the funeral home. ❤️ Sometimes, when Jamie needs to be without Coco or just a little help, John DeStasio kindly steps in and puts Coco on her leash— like in this photo.
You’ll see what we mean in the video in comments… wait until you see how quickly Coco comes running when she’s free to roam . 🐶❤️

Some moments don’t need words. Just a presence.
Whether she’s resting her chin gently on a lap or sitting by your side, Coco reminds us that in grief, it’s okay to just be.

You don’t always have to be strong. You don’t have to say the right thing. Sometimes, the most healing thing is simply being seen, being heard—or being held in stillness by someone who cares.

Today, let Coco be your gentle reminder:
You’re not alone.💛
