Last week at CTMC, we were reminded how strong our community truly is. Our team wore pink to show our support for those battling breast cancer, and we joined National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day in support of families impacted by childhood cancer.

Important Insurance Notice: We Remain In-network for Medica.

If you received a letter from Medica indicating that Child and Teen Medical Center (CTMC) is no longer in-network, please be advised this was an error made by Medica. CTMC remains in-network and continues to see patients with Medica insurance. Medica will be sending a follow-up letter acknowledging and correcting this error.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Dr. Julius Edlavitch, founder of Child and Teen Medical Center, formerly Fridley Children’s and Teenagers’ Medical Center, established in 1983.

Dr. Edlavitch dedicated his life to caring for children and supporting families with compassion and kindness. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched over the years.

Please join us in honoring his memory and keeping his family in your thoughts.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 28, at Beth El Synagogue in St. Louis Park.

Multistate outbreak of infant botulism linked to infant formula, including one case in Minnesota, Linked to ByHeart Whole Nutrition infant formula.

Botulism is a rare but serious illness caused by a toxin that attacks the body's nerves. Botulism causes difficulty breathing, muscle paralysis, and even death.

Infant botulism often starts with constipation but is usually first noticed as difficulty feeding (sucking and swallowing), a weak and altered cry, and lack of head control.

On Nov. 8, ByHeart Inc. recalled two lots of Whole Nutrition Infant Formula:

Lot: 206VABP/251261P2 (“Use by 01 Dec 2026”)
Lot: 206VABP/251131P2 (“Use by 01 Dec 2026”)

ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula makes up less than 1% of all infant formula sales in the United States, and this outbreak does not create shortage concerns of infant formula for parents and caregivers.
