Myrtle Beach was lots of fun. We visited Ripley's Aquarium, walked around Broadway at the Beach, visited the Boardwalk, Zipline, Wonderworks, Soar& Explore rope course, Go Karts, Arcade, Beach, Pool, yummy food and great weather.

We went to clinic today for Ophtalmology, Labs and Oncology visit. Everything went great, we go back in 15 weeks.

He did it!!!! Julian was diagnosed in October 2020, 2 months into 2nd. Grade. He was admitted into the hospital immediately and we didn't come back home for good until June 2021. He did not have the energy to do school and to be honest at that point I couldn't care less about it. All I was focused on was his health. Coming August 2021 we decided the best path moving forward was to enroll him at SCCA, public online school. Having not been able to do much in 2nd grade meant he was way behind so there was the risk of him being retained this year. But HE DID IT! Against all odds, he has been promoted to 4th. GRADE! I couldn't be more proud. 🥰🥳😁

¡¡¡¡Lo logró!!!! Julian fue diagnosticado en octubre de 2020, 2 meses después de haber comenzado a cursar Segundo Grado. Ingresó en el hospital de inmediato y no volvimos a casa definitivamente hasta Junio de 2021. No tenía la energía para hacer tareas de la escuela y, para ser honesta, en ese momento no podía importarme menos. En lo único que me enfocaba era en su salud. En Agosto 2021, decidimos que el mejor camino a seguir era inscribirlo en SCCA, una escuela pública virtual. No haber podido hacer mucho en segundo grado significaba que estaba muy atrasado, por lo que existía el riesgo de que lo retuvieran este año. ¡Pero LO LOGRO! Contra todo pronóstico, ha sido promovido a 4º. ¡GRADO! No podría estar más orgullosa.

Our sweet friend Lucas can use all the positive thoughts and prayers. Keep him and his family in your thoughts and let's pray hard he gets out of the hospital soon and on time for all the Christmas' celebrations.

BMT Day +303

Last night was up and down. He's on 4L of oxygen and stats in the 90s, he's fluctuating high sometimes, low sometimes. The fluids have been coming off, but it's just still so touchy. He's feels crummy, his tummy has been bothering him and making him throw up junk. I think the junk in his lungs is making it down there when he coughs and can't spit it up. The fellow for the weekend came by, she is getting another xray just to check. If for some reason his o2 doesn't come up and stay without more support, we will have to go to the picu for High flow oxygen, which is more than 4L, which is all they can do on the other floors. Praying he won't need that, but we want him to get whatever to make him feel better sooner. He doesn't have a fever this morning though, 98.6 so that's a plus. The Xray is done, we'll see what they say. Praying it looks good. And praying we'll hear some results from the BAL soon and that it'll be something easy to treat. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Update: HE HAS BEEN MOVED TO MONTHLY APPOINTMENTS!! 😍😀😭🙏

Today at his clinic visit Julian got the approval from Dr. Hudspeth to adopt a dog. He is very excited! Since the tragic passing of Hannah, one month into treatment (one year ago), we have all missed having a dog to spoil. We have never gotten a pet from a breeder. This time we have no choice, there are only a few breeds he is allowed to and he is set on a mini Goldendoodle. That being said, does anyone know a breeder we can get in touch with? I have no clue where to start.

We spent a wonderful time at an amazing house in Zirconia, NC, thanks to Believe in Tomorrow. An organization that offers free stay at houses in a few states where families going through the hardship of pediatric cancer can forget about treatment for a few days. The best thing for me was to watch the kids enjoy themselves and just be kids.

Julian has had a double broviac on his chest for over a year. Today it is being removed. It is a good day.

MT Day +244
Julian had clinic today. Counts look very good. He is feeling great, so much energy. The cooler temperatures have allowed for him to go out more and play with friends, he is good enough to be around others more, taking precautions of course but it is a huge improvement. Doctor gave the ok for him to go trick or treat if he wants to, again, huge!!! It has been a whole year of this ordeal and I am so grateful of how good he is feeling and how things keep progressing.
Julian tuvo clínica hoy. Los examenes de laboratorio se ven muy bien. Se siente muy bien, con mucha energía. Las temperaturas más frescas le han permitido salir más y jugar con amigos, esto le hace muy bien, hace un año que no puede estar con sus amigos. La doctora dio su consentimiento para que pueda salir a pedir dulces en Halloween. Ya hace un año que empezo todo esto y estoy muy agradecida de lo bien que se siente y de cómo las cosas siguen progresando.

Quick update on Julian.

He has been doing well, a few issues here and there, mostly digestive. Labs remain stable, nothing too low or too high.
He is active and doing online school. We are a little worried about his alopecia, hair should be back by now, so a few things will be checked at his next appointment to see if there is something preventing his hair from growing back, thyroid issues could be the cause.
His appointments from now on will be every 2 weeks instead of weekly .
