While there are countless metaphors for family therapy, one could be that of a manual wristwatch (you know, not digital, perhaps like the one your grandpa used to wear). In older timepieces like a watch, when one gear gets stuck or broken, all other components struggle to function.

SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) describes it well in its guide on the topic: “Family therapy is based on the idea that a family is a system of different parts. Saturday was one for the books! 🎶🦪✨ Southern Sky Recovery was proud to sponsor Recovery Jam 2025 in Bluffton — the annual Better Days Harm Reduction fundraiser that raises awareness, promotes safe & sober living, and brings recovery resources to the community.

That evening, we hosted our 3rd Annual Homecoming with the theme “The World is Your Oyster” at the beautiful Port Royal Maritime Foundation in Okatie. 🌊 We welcomed alumni back with a lowcountry boil by Johnnie Jenkins, live music from Whitley Deputy, inspiring speakers, and even oyster painting!

We’re so grateful for a community that shows up, celebrates recovery, and supports each other every step of the way. 💙
