We had so much fun celebrating Halloween all week at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital!

From face painting and crafts to group costumes and games, something festive was happening in every part of the hospital.

Charlotte is finally home! After 696 days at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, she’s starting a new chapter.

She has been a big part of our hospital family for nearly two years. We’ve watched her grow, fight, and shine through some really tough days.

This week, we got to celebrate her in true Charlotte style with all the personality, sparkle, and love from her family and care team. 💙

Last year, Jayden Jenkins got news no kid should ever have to hear. Just two days after Christmas, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer.

Today, Jayden is 12 years old, in the seventh grade, and cancer-free thanks to the incredible care he received at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center.

He was recently recognized at The Citadel’s Intercept Cancer football game, where he served as honorary captain, helped with the coin toss, and stood proudly on the field with his family.

It’s not every day you look up and see superheroes rappelling down the side of a hospital building. But that’s exactly what happened on Friday at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital!

Our patients spent time outside with their favorite heroes, sharing laughs, hugs, and wide-eyed moments that brought joy to everyone watching.

Mac could have asked for anything. Instead, he chose to give back.

After receiving a heart transplant at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, Mac used his wish from Make-A-Wish South Carolina to donate two massage chairs to the cardiology floor.

It was his way of thanking the care teams who helped save his life.

The chairs were generously provided by Relax The Back in Mount Pleasant and unveiled during a ceremony on Thursday morning. It was a very special moment for all who attended. 💙

Big news for Lowcountry families!

MUSC Children’s Health and Roper St. Francis Healthcare are partnering to open a new 16-bed Children’s Unit at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in the new year.

This first-of-its-kind partnership for pediatric inpatient care in South Carolina will provide families with compassionate, specialized care close to home — featuring private rooms, a 1,000-square-foot playroom, and care from MUSC pediatric specialists and Roper St. Francis Healthcare’s expert nursing team.
